Actually it will be Clemson going to the Russell Athletic Bowl...they get the First a Choice Regardless after the Orange Bowl...assuming FSU wins the ACC:

CFP Florida State in the Sugar Bowl
Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl
Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl
Louisville in the Citrus Bowl

Gotcha...it kind of murky...from an article I just looked up...regardless looks like if FSU wins both Louisville and Clemson will be in Orlando that same week.

Russell Athletic Bowl: Clemson (9-3), Duke (9-3) and Louisville (9-3) are eligible for the Dec. 29 game in Orlando, Fla. The Russell Bowl picks after the CFP and before the Tier I bowls.

The Citrus is the more desirable bowl. Why would Russell pick first?

Ownership is the same too. No way they shaft the higher paying sponsor by giving the lower paying sponsor first choice.

I know bowls aren't thrilled with having schools two years in a row but if GT and Clemson have already been taken by the Orange and Citrus bowls I don't see the Russell ignoring Louisville. UofL and Duke were both 9-3, but the Cards played a much tougher schedule and even in a repeat year, you'd have a ton more Cardinal fans over Blue Devil fans in Orlando. Everyone else they could choose finished 2 games behind at 7-5, if I understand correctly that the Russell can't take ND over ACC teams with at least 9 wins.

Yeah...my advice to L1C4 is start calling around the Orlando area for Hotel space..sure the coaches don't mind being in Florida for Recruiting.

Duke does not belong in the Music City. if they have to play Auburn it will get ugly fast.

If UofL goes to the Music City Bowl would much rather play a Texas A&M, Ole Miss or LSU instead of Auburn for the simple reason UofL opens with Auburn next year in Atlanta next season...

That could happen . as its a guess on sec top 3 or 4 non playoff/new years 6 games.

sec should get 2 in New Years 6 games then 2 of Missouri/ole miss/auburn in citrus, outback then Georgia, LSU, A+M,Tennessee and 1 other go to belk, music, gator, Texas and Liberty bowls

GT (+5.5) vs Mich St in Orange
Clemson (+1) vs Mizzou in Citrus
UL (+9) vs Oklahoma in Russell
Duke (+17.5) vs Auburn in Music City

We'd be the dog in all 4 games if you use the Sagarin predictor ratings as at least a rough guide. Auburn and Oklahoma are rated higher by the computers than the committee. Sagarin in fact has MSU, Aub, and OU all in his top 10, with Mizzou #18.
