Liberty vs. Nova, Nova begging fans to attend
Searching the web today about Saturday's game I came across two interesting articles from the SB Nation about LU vs. Nova. Seems like Nova may be feeling some pre-game heat from the Flames.

"Help Villanova Football win the attendance battle in the playoffs" is from Brian Ewart. Seems like he thinks a swarm of LU fans are going to attend. His comment, "Liberty University is a small campus that rallies around it's team, and the Flames are expected to travel well to the Main Line this weekend." indicates he knows nothing about LU. "Small campus"?. LU made a very good showing traveling to JMU and Ewart has a LU fan Twitter link, "18 student buses are going to Villanova! So freaking stoked!"

The second article, by Chris Lane (not Lang) also mentions the 18 buses arriving from Liberty in his article "Villanova vs. Liberty: 3 things to know about the Flames"

If you are going, spread the cheer here. Let's get this LU forum rolling!

Yep. I support it and read it. What I find here is there is a large group of fans from many different teams and conferences. That can provide a pulse of the sports community, sometimes valid, sometimes crazy, and most always interesting. I like the local boards for their team info, support and the CSNBBS for a broader representation that most times brings dialogue. Both provide great service in their own ways.

Don't you find the ODU and JMU forums interesting? LU has been a hot topic on theirs in the past. Why can't we have that same interest and involvement here that would support Flames Fan?

re: buses... I saw an advertisement on Facebook stating the LU students get a ticket, a ride, and two meals for the Villanova game for $5. You can't beat that with a stick! What a deal. LU leading the way!

I wouldn't be shocked if we have about as many fans at Nova as they do. Basketball is king there and I can't see many people doing the basketball game at 1 and then a football game at 4:30. This is a huge game. Win this one and we're on ESPN, not ESPN 3.

We will probably have if not equal more fans than VU, but now all that is left if 4QF that we hopefully come out on top of.

Villanova attendance for 2014 from NCAA at http://stats.ncaa.org/rankings?sport_cod...ivision=12

Nova - home games - 6
Total attendance - 37,434
Per game avg. - 6,239
seating - 12,000
% sold - 51.99%

LU - home games - 6
Total attendance - 102,098
Per game avg. - 17,016
seating - 19,200
% sold - 88%

With this weak attendance showing, LU has another opportunity to make a statement with a sea of red this Saturday. If 2,000 to 3,000 could make the trip, that would make another statement and diminish the home field advantage. How many Nova fans will show up? How many LU fans make the trek?

It would be so awesome to have 50% of the crowd there. Our kids would love it and surely gain some extra energy from it. I really believe we can win this game.

Talked to my banker today, an avid App State supporter asking him about Nova and what to expect as I know very little. He stated that Nova's attendance is so low and their stadium is so lacking that the Big East would not allow them to play FBS. Liberty has triple their attendance playing a weak, inferior home schedule in the Big South.

Guys at the JMU site said that we can expect 5k-6k total at the game including the 2k+ expected from LU. I am assuming the LU band is going so that should add to the game. They were a big factor at App State.
