That'll be a huge UAB decal.

Tech and Marshall need to honor UAB
Marshall should wear the home UAB jerseys and Tech can wear the away jerseys.

It would just need to be a simple

"UAB"

Agreed! This would be a fitting tribute to a program that was ended without justification.

DUUUUUDE.

It would be awesome if you could manage it, but I'm guessing the NCAA would drop the uniform policy hammer on you. (Hell, even Vandy, an SEC team, wasn't allowed to do keep "Anchors Down", a minor uniform alteration.) Easier just to have the ball carrier on MT scores say "this is for UAB" into the endzone cameras for every MT touchdown.

I heard from some of our fans down at the game that they saw several people from other schools in thr stands thst leeft before half. They were there to show support that was it.

Once the "save UAB" crowd went away what wpuld football attendance be?

Now I think you all have been set up to fail but selling out a basketball tournament wouldn't recrtify the situation.

Every time something happens people get up in arms abput it but the further removed from it you get thr less those same people care.

Where would Marshall Football be if we were told Joan C Edwards Stadium could not be built? Imagine how our attendance would have looked if we had been forced to play at Fairfield.... very few students went to games. Once side of the "stadium" was temporary bleachers and the permanent side was on the edge of being condemned.... that's about where UAB football ended, being told NO to a new stadium which hurt the ability to fundraise for other improvements.

How many years has UAB played football?

When was the on campus stadium declined?

What was UAB attendance for the years preceding this declination?

UAB football program turned 25 this year.

Stadium was declined in 2011.

2003 UAB averaged just over 23k In 2008 nearly 19k, In 2010 around 18k, in 2012 the year after the new stadium was declined down to 15k, last year down to just over 10k.

Once the new stadium prospects were gone attendance really nose dived.

The NCAA may have a uniform policy, but they can not tell the fans what to wear. I bought my tickets this morning and have been thinking about a sign since I heard the news. Everyone in the stands (Marshall and LaTech) should have something.

What could the NCAA do? Not like they could stop the game

I love the idea. I hope they do something to bring some attention to this travesty.

IIRC, violation of uniform standards is punishable by a fifteen-yard penalty on the opening kickoff of the second half.

If both teams are breaking this rule, then I'd think the penalties would offset.

RE: Tech and Marshall need to honor UAB
Marshall and LT need to concentrate on the game and celebrate this fantastic opportunity they have earned. They can worry about UAB after the game is over. It's not fair to drag either of these teams in to this right now and to detract from their experience. I feel bad for UAB but there is still a championship to be decided this weekend that involves two schools not named UAB. Sorry if that upsets you and yes I know a couple of you will over react but that's truly how I feel.
