I think they both would deserve it but I have an uneasy feeling that Ohio State would get the nod despite having a worse total body of work than either TCU or Baylor.

I really don't think Wisconsin is that good so I don't see how that game should bump Ohio State's resume up that much. The Badgers lost on a neutral field against the 5th best team in the SEC West & then they never played a good team the rest of the way, including a loss to NW. Ohio State would likely finish 5th or 6th in the SEC West (Ohio St. vs. Texas A&M/Arkansas would be a good game).

Both TCU and Baylor would need blowout wins and OSU would have to win with some controversy or just as ugly as possible. 4 turnover, 13-10, giveaway game type ugly. Otherwise, OSU gets in... over Baylor most likely.

What will OSU use for a QB ? Losing both QB's this year probably sinks Them.

No, in that scenario the Big 12 doesn't get two, small private schools with no fan base outside of central Texas in the playoffs.

In that scenario, TCU is already in with Alabama and Oregon. Georgia Tech jumps everyone and is the fourth representative in the playoff.

GT would have OOC wins against: Wofford, Tulane, Georgia Southern, and Georgia (which would put them ahead of UGA).
Losses to Duke and UNC. Wins over FSU and Clemson.

tOSU would have OOC wins against: Navy, Kent, Cincy, Loss to VT.
Wins over Michigan State, Wisconsin.

tOSU has one less loss. Loss to VT about the same as GT's loss to UNC. GT would have one more loss. Hard to see them jumping tOSU

The committee supposedly places a lot of value on CCGs (risks are likely rewarded). Therefore, if Ohio St. beats Wisconsin (with its third string QB and “only a week” of preparation), it will probably be in the final four….

Looks like TCU is in the drivers seat.

Still stunned that a team that is the Defending National Champion and hasn't lost a game in 2 years is Ranked 4th....really....

RE: If GT beats FSU & Ohio St. narrowly wins B1G, does TCU & Baylor both get in?
I waited to vote till after the new standings were announced. It is obvious that Baylor's near loss against Texas Tech affected them negatively. Despite Ohio State losing Barrett, Baylor didn't pass them. Even I had then penciled in as #5. One thing folks need to remember is that Cardale Jones was the preseason backup to Braxton, not Barrett. We will see his passing abilities against Wisconsin but after seeing him in the Michigan game, he seems to fit that mold that both Braxton and Barrett have shown us to be Urban's style at Ohio State.

If FSU loses then I think Ohio State moves in, not Baylor.

It is pretty obvious and sad how the Big 12 is selling out their own moniker in their attempt to possibly get two teams into the Playoff. "One True Champion" my ass.

I think it is a blessing in disguise and folks really shouldn't be that surprised. The Sugar Bowl is just down the coast for FSU where as the Rose Bowl is across the entire country, three time zones.

This tells me that the Committee isn't tied up in the rankings, they are more interested in having good match ups. Sending TCU out West is the better choice.

TCU and Oregon match up very well for a great game. Alabama and Florida State match up well for a great game. They are similar teams and would mean that we are set for a very dynamic Championship game of two teams with very differing styles.

I thought the lack of a championship game was going to hurt the Big 12? Looks like they are the most likely conference to get two teams in exactly because they don't have a championship game.

No, MSU would have sealed the spot had they held serve against Ole Miss, as would have the Pac 12 had those clubs held serve with zero or one loss. Big 12 got lucky this year with the upsets.

Unless the Committee wishes to penalize them for it. I would simply say that the Big 12 is the conference with the best set up for getting in two teams IF the committee allows for it.

That would require one team from the top 4 to lose AND Ohio State to lose to Wisconsin OR Ohio State to win but not convincingly while Baylor convincingly beats Kansas State.

If it wasn't for all the damn propaganda by the SEC and ESPN about getting in two teams, I don't know if the Big 12 would be so willing to undercut their own propaganda of "One True Champion" that they have been using as their campaign motto.

I just meant at this point the Big 12 is the most likely to get two teams in, not in general, but at this point in this particular season.

How exactly have they undercut their "one true champion" campaign?

You mean how the committee approached the Big 12 and asked them to pick a team to represent them rather than having the committee do their job and vote for who they believe is better between the two?

Please.

Their job? Holy **** that is laughable. Every other conference determines their own champion and it is stated that the Committee is taking into account conference champions. It isn't stated that a conference championship game is necessary, just that a team is the declared conference champion.

What you are saying is absolutely false. It is the Big 12 stating that they wont say which team is the conference champion despite their own motto of "One True Champion".

I cant believe you are actually arguing what you are trying to argue.
