*[headslap]* Yes, of course they are ... I wasn't even looking at the school names, I was just looking at the stars in the ESPN standings ... I'm used to thinking of Wikipedia information as potentially unreliable, but I keep slipping into the fallacy of thinking of the ESPN site as if it was professional sports journalism.

Some of the bowl projectors don't really have a handle on secondary tie ins, but Jerry Palm has OhioU in the Armed Forces:
GoDaddy: NIU v TX State
Armed Forces: OhioU v Houston
Bahamas: WMU v LA Tech
Boca Raton: CMU v WKU
Camellia: BGU v AR State
Idaho: Toledo v Nevada

Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy at ESPN both have OhioU staying home, Brett McMurphy seems to have Bowling Green winning the CCG:
GoDaddy: MS{NIU v TX State}, BM{BGU v TX State}
Bahamas: MS{NIU v Marshall}, BM{WMU v MTSU}
Boca Raton: MS{BGU v MTSU}, BM{LA Tech v NIU}
Camellia: MS{CMU v TX State}, BM{Toledo v AR State}
Idaho: MS{WMU v Nevada}, BM{CMU v Nevada}

The Sporting News' Bill Bender goes:
GoDaddy: NIU v TX State
Bahamas: WMU v LA Tech
Boca Raton: CMU v Rice
Camellia: Toledo v Pitt
Idaho: BGU v Nevada

Interesting side note on the Sporting News Projections: The SBC Bowl contract prohibits swapping an SBC team for a team from another league. That slot must be filled by an SBC team provided one is available. For some reason Sporting News put Arkansas State in the Armed Forces Bowl and left Camellia vacant.

Nope, looks like BGU is going there out of the MAC Conference.

ESPN released their updated bowl projections and Ohio is nowhere to be found.

Bahamas Bowl: Toledo vs Middle Tennessee
GoDaddy Bowl: Northern Illinois vs Arkansas State

Brett McMurphy:
Idaho Potato Bowl: Central Michigan vs Nevada
Camellia Bowl: Toledo vs South Alabama
Roca Raton Bowl: BGSU vs Louisiana Tech
Bahamas Bowl: Western Michigan vs UAB
GoDaddy Bowl: Northern Illinois vs Arkansas State

Bowls will be salivating to get UAB in their stadium (unfortunately for UAB fans it's for a bad reason). Any MAC team lined up against them will "benefit" from the added exposure the bowl will receive. However, the storyline will be so UAB focused that the MAC squad's season story will barely be a footnote in lead-up coverage. Also, the Blazers will be on fire to win and every casual viewer not tied to either team will be rooting for UAB.

In short, that'll be a quite an interesting matchup.

Why would UAB take a bowl trip overseas with a defunct program? No way that happens.

+1

CUSA has no bowl games in Alabama. There were 2 thoughts among the media yesterday. Send them to a destination bowl (Hawaii or Bahamas) OR send them to a bowl as close to home as possiable so their fanbase, family and friends can see them in a UAB uni one last time.

I think GoDaddy makes a move for UAB in a swap for the MAC pick this year. It would be the best situation for the bowl and the fanbase.

I don't know how I'd feel about wearing that uniform again if I were a UAB player. I'd rather wear plain white and just support my fellow teammates.

More likely the ESPN-owned Camellia bowl in Montgomery, swapping the MAC as spot in a different bowl to pit UAB against USA.

Bahamas and Boca Raton are out, and the Bahamas is CUSA owned anyway, I don't know which of New Mexico, Hawaii, Heart of Dallas or Independence bowl are ESPN owned. Personally, if we were going bowling this year, I'd be happy to trade Montgomery for NOLA.

Ive always wished that the MAC would get the NOLA bowl. Definitely would get MAC teams traveling better or at least me.

New coming out today seems like UAB is not going bowling. All 5 of the CUSA bowls MUST pick the 7-5 (or better) teams before any 6-6 teams.
