I visited, unfortunately my schedule only allowed for a short visit. It's nice background music though as I keep working. If I'm lucky I can still hear it this afternoon when I'm farther away.

Meeting with boosters? Is that a good sign or a bad sign?

Why meet with boosters if you're killing it, right?

I hope it's at "Appomattox Courthouse"

It can't be bad news. He may just be doing it to placate them, but at least they get one last pitch.

Or, this could have been the plan all along... Just saying. Wonder if Dr. Watts is crafty as a fox and is using the study and the new booster support to tell the UA BOT to go screw themselves (can't believe I just typed that) telling them that UAB Football is here to stay, grow and dominate it's domain, which is not UAT's territory in the foreseeable future.

And allow a National media group like Sports Illustrated make a report without a single denial, or at least a "no decision has been made" response?

Either Watts is an idiot, or he has the worst PR director in the history of the United States working for him.

From what they were saying the boosters were threatening to drop their donations if watts gets rid of football and wished to discuss it with him. The coaches said they believed an announcement would be made tomorrow.

Here's the problem- I think that is what they want. Booster threaten to withhold funds gives them even more reason to shut athletics down. Catch 22.

If it's athletics boosters then it doesn't matter. Who cares if people donating to the program they want to close stops donating? Need to get some big name academic/medical donors to threaten to pull their money, including (or especially) corporate donors.

This!! If alumni/corporate/community dollars TO THE SCHOOL (not the athletics) are threatened, then Watts might take notice.

No, but does it work primarily out of Tuscoloosa instead of Birmingham?
