Both J.T and Devonte
have leadership qualities on the court. We've never had a point guard as qualified as Devonte who couldn't win the starting job. But J.T. has proven to be a quality player, as is Devonte. This team should be good this year, but next year we could be dynamite.
Think of who we have scheduled to come back. James White, Roger Woods, James Reid, J.T Thomas, Marius Hill, Josh Hagins, Mariek Isom, Kemy Osse, Stetson Billings, plus others. That's a pretty salty bunch. Plus we've signed a high school point guard. Assuming we have a good season this year, we could very well be the favorite to win it all next year.

That's usually the case. I would expect the main men to return.

Might be a good thing so as to allow us to recruit over some players who won't get much PT anyway. If nobody leaves voluntarily or otherwise and if I am counting accurately, and if Stetson returns, we will have only one scholarship left to offer before next season and then a whole bunch of huge holes to fill afer next year with only Batiste, Hill, Kemy and that one additional player back for the 2015-2016. Anyone who leaves between now and the end of next season opens up a new scholarship for us. I don't like chasing people off, but honestly telling players that their butts won't be leaving the bench except at practice an have good results. As Wimp used to say, "Those things have a way of working themselves out." I hope they do, or year after next could e bleak.

Upon further review, if Mo is patient, we will also have him back and getting a lot of playing time two years from now.

Agreed! Natural successor to James White.

Interestingly, Devonte and JT are roommates. Devonte told us last night that he still wasn't running, but "promised" my wife (he is her favorite player) that he will play in Springfield Thursday night. I'm sure he 100% wants to keep that promise, but the decision will likely be made be a doctor and the coaches.

RE: Both J.T and Devonte
I really like him also. I thought last season he showed he might be one of our best point guards ever, since most jucos who start their first season, also are the starters the Senior season, but then J.T. came back and is doing a fine job and Devonte has been relegated to backup. But we're fortunate that Josh can step in and play the point if needed, so we're in good shape until Devonte can return to top speed.
