I hold no real ill will towards Memphis, would like to see the series restarted at some point after Vandy rotates off the schedule.

While we are in a different system...the funding of colleges is going to be under tremendous pressure. The BOR will prioritize, they will have too. In the short term this will not effect us, but the ideal of college students paying fees that fund most of our athletic departments (well, at least ours) is not a sustainable model. We are entering a future that will look radically different than the last 20 years. Our cheese is gonna be moved. Adapt or die.

Amen! We must remain vigilant. UT has always considered Memphis a Step-brother and MT a mere nuisance. We should not take the demise of any non land grant public University lightly. And even though we have different governing boards than UT; we will always compete with The Evil Eastern Empire for every state education tax dollar we get.

Yes but our new leadership has realized our mistake and is bringing back football. Hopefully you will get new leadership that realizes the flaw in this thinking.
