NCAA Volleyball Tournament
I was told and found confirmation on the internet that only the first 16 teams in the 64 team tournament are seeded. Those 16 teams get to host 3 other teams. An attempt is made to place teams regionally. I'm not sure exactly what the lack of "seeding" means. I can't imagine the 4 teams in each subregional won't be ranked in some way. Hopefully, we will play in the 2 vs 3 game (based on our mid-30's RPI), in the opening round, no matter where we go. I predict we go to Austin, Tx, but Lawrence, KS is a possibility as are Colorado State and Nebraska. Regardless of what happens from here this has been one amazing season for our girls.

I saw a message board which talked about trying to keep schools within 400 miles of home. Lawrence, KS is 441 miles away. Maybe that is close enough. Or maybe if you are not within a 400 mile radius of an opening round site, the NCAA will send you by plane and at that point will go ahead and send you anywhere.

So you guys play at #16 Kansas in Round 1. Winner plays at the same site two days later against the Oregon State/Creighton winner. #1 Stanford is the Sweet 16 pairing.

The positive is that the Jayhawk men's basketball team is playing Florida on Campus that night. We get the Jayhawks in Topeka. So we are playing the lowest seeded team, off campus, with a smaller than normal crowd likely. We also have the best Volleyball team we have ever had, and likely will ever have. If UALR ever had the opportunity to knock off a seeded team this is it. I'll worry about Stanford later.

RE: NCAA Volleyball Tournament
A "bracketologist" had us in #1 Stanford's bracket playing #45 Santa Clara. Would have given us a great chance for our first NCAA win ever. But, of course, we would have then been curb-stomped by Stanford on their home court. Our current placement actually gives us the best possible chance of getting to the Sweet Sixteen. The bracketologist had Kansas opening against, I believe, LIU Brooklyn who is ranked #62. I guarantee you that Kansas' coach is not happy about their opening game no matter what ends up happening.
