It's not like he's coaching a team, betting on the game, or even taking an AD spot at Bama. Let the dude root for his alma mater. The game legit had absolutely zero bearing on anything to do with NIU.

WHAT?!?!?! He has a small allegiance towards where he played football and where received his bachelors? HOW DARE HE?!?!?!

Just tweet and remind him that NIU is undefeated against Bama. He'll be fine then.

Yeah I know some people say its wrong to get uptight about something like that, but yes its not appropriate for an AD to tweet that, it just isn't.

MD is an idiot, the guy went to Alabama.. I'd hope those who go to NIU are proud of our school, regardless where they end up working.

I can have my own allegiances and favorites in life, but if it directly affects my current job, no matter how minimally, then I keep my private. A huge part of his job is being the public face of NIU sports/football.

Part of being a professional, IMO.

On a much smaller scale, if I played football at a HS in Illinois, then move on to work as a football coach or AD at another school, I don't tweet and cheer on another school that plays against me, even though I used to play there when I was a kid.

If I get a job at Alabama as AD in a couple years - they're gonna be cool with me tweeting "Love my Huskies, but they won just like Alabama did! GO Huskies Go! #RollTide #NIU"
