I'm good with it. We didn't play with enough consistency this year to warrant the championship crown so congrats Georgia Southern on a great season and winning the Sunbelt!

Oh, and on the issue of post-season bowls, sorry, but

I think winning the conference outright is helping me cope with the sting of no post-season, but I'll get through it regardless. We knew the rule when we joined.

Oh and I got something for your team:

I'm sure we'll see eachother soon, Cajuns. Congrats to both teams on their wins today.04-cheers

Im down with GSU. Congrats on a fine season, although I did notice a trend at the end of the season... Folks were finally figuring out that tri-op. Enjoy your trophy.

"No soup for you!"

We will be pulling for y'all in the bowl games. I know it is disappointing that we will not go to a bowl game this year but we knew that was the case when we accepted the invite. The crown helps to take the sting out.

Good season by both teams.

The Cajuns couldn't take care of the business they needed to to win the conference, so the earned that 2nd place finish. You can't control what other teams do, only what your own team does.

Guess the hater portion of the Cajun fanbase needs something to hold onto.

Don't worry, we'll head to a bowl soon enough.

We'll win that, too.

Yup. Kinda nice when we're at a point where 8-4, 7-1 is a nightmare season. I hope we continue that trend. I see you guys have had a similar season so far.04-cheers

I agree with you to a certain extent on people figuring out how to handle the option we run. I think the other side of that issue was something that concerned me more from the start than people figuring it out, and that was the effect of facing a full season of FBS opponents with a far less than full roster. Next year the numbers will be a little more in our favor, but we're graduating some valuable parts of the machine. Hopefully some of those really good-looking O linemen we signed last year will be ready for primetime by next September.

I took his post the same way at first, and responded. Then I saw what one Cajun poster said, realized his comment wasn't aimed at me and deleted my post.

Jim, congrats on the fine season and winning the conference championship.

It'll be interesting to see how you guys perform from here forward, that's for sure.

Despite all the negative comments about the conference floating around out there, this is really a pretty decent football league and it's tough for anyone to get on top and stay there for long.

once you figure it out it's beatable zee.

the first time we played navy we looked like we were kids playing men.

last 2 years vs. navy and army......4-0.

this year we pulled their hair like we was hittin it from behind.. but until you see it a couple times you can look silly.

this thread is about the cajuns tho'. i know second isn't what you were shooting for but nobody knew how damaging broadway's injury caused his passing to be.

still a fine year and of course another bowl for the ragin cajuns.

kudos to all ya'll.

in honor of the cajuns i'm lounging around the trailer in some jorts with brogan boots with no laces. a piece o' rope for a belt. a plaid red and black flannel with the sleeves cut off. and a big ole straw hat to keep that louisianner sun off my chrome dome.

listening to this:
