Many of my threads take on a life of their own. And when they don't, I merely have to mention the poor quality of football played at Georgia Southern. It's then a done-deal.

Well played, sir. 01-ncaabbs

Lemme explain. It's obvious that some of your fans are on the verge of a meltdown because you won the conference but now have to sit at home while other Sunbelt teams, perhaps some you beat, and others you did not play, will enjoy the national attention and prestige of a bowl game.

I'm sorry, but that was the rule when you joined the conference. Appeal the rules, appeal the denials, appeal till you've run out of appeals and then accept it. You'll have a chance next year to defend your Sunbelt crown and earn the opportunity to play in a bowl.

Meanwhile, we appreciate your support for the New Orleans- bound history-making Cajun squad.

I graduated from GA Southern before our football program was reinstated in the early 80s and have been a season ticket holder for the vast majority of of the years since. I therefore know quite a few GS fans, but somehow I don't know a single one that is upset about not being able to go to a bowl. Disappointed, yes, but we knew going in what the rule was, requested a waiver as allowed, appealed as allowed, and appreciate that our administration took the steps that were available to them to get our players the reward that they deserved. Didn't go our way, it's over. I'd be interested to know why some of our conference mates' fans want to exaggerate our reaction to the denial? Or, could you give me examples of what makes it "obvious that some of your fans are on the verge of a meltdown"? Best of luck in New Orleans!

Well, let me ask you. Would you consider a GaSouthern fan angrily suggesting that the entire team and coaching staff show up at the New Orleans bowl decked out in their uniforms and carrying the Sunbelt Title banner as being near a meltdown? I would.

LE, as rabid (a good thing) as your fanbase is, most were gracious in the end when it became evident that there'd be no bowl game for GaSouthern. However, there were a few who left mad. I hope they come back soon because I can assure you that the great majority of us here in the Sunbelt are proud to have you guys and App State on board.
I like the Cajuns. They actually have fans that care. This is new to us and app. The socon crowd of furman and wofford were more concerned with wine pairings and cheese platters.
