This article says that the New Orleans bowl will indeed take a CUSA team if an MWC cannot fill it.

This means 6 CUSA teams will bowl as long as Oklahoma State loses and Boise St or Marshall get the Access bid.

Edit: Unless SEC gets 4 in, like in the first scenario above, but we would have the Indy bowl open in that case.

I'll be pulling hard for OU to whip OSU. A 6th C-USA bowl team would make the bowl season even more fun.

I understand you are frustrated with how our season played out, but how exactly does UAB deserve it more than us?

We finished with identical records and won the head to head. I hate it for UAB too and I wanted to see them bowling this year as well(even before the announcement) but no, a team that we beat that has the same record as us does not deserve a bowl more than we do.

My opinion is influenced in part by the fact that Stockstill and staff don't deserve a Bowl. They vastly underachieved this year, with a team that should have ben at least 8-4, if not 9-3 overall. Also in part because UAB going to a bowl would shine a light nationally on the GOD AWFUL MURDER of an improving brother in our conference. I've attended every MT Bowl Game in the Modern era; but I'm ready to for both Stockstill and I to stay home!

So completely subjective battered fan logic that the conference and bowl committees won't consider? Got it.

Bowl worthiness is not determined by your opinion of the staff or how many games you think we should have won.

If you want to argue we don't deserve a bowl, fine, that's your prerogative, but if we don't "deserve" a bowl, neither does UAB, their resume is at best equal to ours.

You do realize this entire discussion regarding the worthiness of UAB vs MT is Moot! . Now that ESPN has successfully torpedoed the TRUE STORY on why UAB's program was murdered; they aren't going to get even a whiff at a bowl invitation. Blue Raiders, on the other hand still have a Jamaican born President and this MWC twist may really give us a shot in N.O. as well. Still, don't think we deserve it!

You don't have to think that you deserve it. As my deeply southern wifes says its a" birds nest on the ground" meaning blessing or something extra.

I hope MTSU makes it just so we don't have to play in the Bahamas Bowl, although I do enjoy Popeyes Chicken...

Let's say we know that the HOD is suck B1G team (i.e. Illinois). If you have a chance to play an 11-2 NIU team that cracks the top 25, do you think your leaders would rather have that in Boca or the HOD against an average B1G school?

Before I go, being that they won't get Access, I bet Marshall does what's best for the conference. A UAB bowl game could save their program. Stranger things have happened.

Why would we trade. Big 12 is short for this which means they will pick from CUSA MAC and SBC most likely. With la tech and rice both wanting to play there I like our chances of them being selected and getting us a 6th bowl.
