So, they should beat us in a close game Monday? Got it.

It's a good thing you aren't negative.

Some folks just have to stop drinking that Kool Aid after so many disappointing years BigD. I said for several years that I was going on the wagon, but kept falling off. This year I finally gave in and joined Kool Aid Anonymous. I hope it's not like an alcoholic taking a drink, and then they start drinking again, because I went to a Trojan game today.

RE: uca post game
I was very impressed with James White and Roger Woods. Those two will be a handful for the Belt to stop. James is learning that he can score whenever he wants to just by dunking it. And it looks like Woods has a green light to drive whenever he wants to. Joe made the comment on the postgame show that he understood that Gus and Mareik wand more minutes, but that right now White, Woods and Hill were playing so well that minutes were just hard to find for the others.

This team shoots FTs well, and that is going to win us some games this year.

Again, our 3PT defense was very poor.

This team has some features we have not had in the past. A bona fide two-barrelled inside attack, for one thing.

Hard to remember the last inside player we had in Roger Woods' class. He's almost as strong and as much of a bull underneath as Michael Clark (Newell days) and Muntrelle Dobbins (Platt/Wimp days). But he is a much more skilled ball handler and shooter than those two guys who are a couple of the best that played here. Maurius Hill is the most improved freshman to sophomore player I have ever seen here. Doesn't even look like the same person. He looks more mature, stronger, self-confident, and is displaying moves and shooting ability than I had no clue he had. These are two players most of us barely factored in when we were talking optimistically about the coming season. We didn't know a thing about Woods and didn't view Maurius as a key player on this team. Then you add in Reid, who didn't do much of anything today, but has already proven he is a shooter and a kid who can clearly help this team. Even a glass half-empty guy like me is feeling pretty optimistic about this team.

I haven't seen your team but, based only what I've read, that would be my prediction. UCA has a couple of guys who can really shoot it. If their students show up for a "rivalry game", despite their record, that might well be enough to help them get over the hump. I guess my concern, for the UCA team, would be whether they can get pumped up enough for their 2nd rivalry game in 3 days.
