Besides quitting running offense, they seemed to quit playing defense over the last five minutes.

But thank you, Northern Illinois.

Looks like things come down to the KSU-BG game.

We basically quit running our offense with a huge lead and there was too much time left to do that. MU had a kid who is a nobody hit 2 late 3's and Ortiz missed a FT that would have put us up 3 with a few seconds left. MU drove to the bucket and sent the game to OT. Was basically a total meltdown on our coaches and players.

Agree totally. We quit running the offense way too early!

Actually, we scored enough points to win.

Not exactly. UB is just a game back of Kent and BGSU and plays both in final week. If UB picks up a win on Saturday night they have the inside track to the East.

Even if you win, you still lose because you have a grown baby on the sidelines acting a fool. 03-hissyfit

RE: Kent State @ Miami
I did go to watch Lorain High play at Warrensville High last night. It was a high quality atmosphere and well played high school game that went to overtime. Devon picked up two fouls in the first 38 seconds of the game and was sent to the bench. The teams just came out with very high energy and the officiating left something to be desired. WHS lead by approx 10 points the entire 1st and second qtrs. Devon came in at about the 4 minute mark of the 2nd qtr to pick up his 3rd foul and go back to the bench. Devons brother, a junior, was instrumental in keeping LHS in the game. The third qtr saw Devon play off the action to keep out of deeper foul trouble. He was not scoring but he moves the ball and is very unselfish. Good no look passer, and can really leap. He picks up foul number 4 in the 4th qtr. LHS goes ahead by 2 with less than a minute in regulation. WHS scores to send game to OT. In OT summary, LHS is ahead by 2 with WHS getting the last possession for the final shot to tie or win. They have multiple shooters with 3 pt range so it is very exciting in a packed gym. Devon comes out of no where to intercept a cross the court pass, dribble to his bucket and pass to a team mate on the break to give LHS a remarkable lead and win.

Now for Devon based on his limited playing time. He has a D1 body right now. He appears to be 6'4" but he likes to play around the basket and typically plays above the rim. Hard to believe he will be a guard with that ability. I think he ended with 10 points. He is a superb athlete and it shows. He is a team player and loves assist. That was LHS final regular season game and it completed a undefeated season. BTW, Devon made the last two high pressure foul shots that gave LHS the winning points. Before, he had missed 4 in a row so I declared him a legit Golden Flash. He will be fun to watch for four years.

I was there too, agree with most of what you said. Except the game didn't go to Overtime. Lorain won in regulation. It was a shame he was saddled with fouls all night because I felt like we didn't get to see him playing very aggressively. I think he'll be a big factor right away defensively. He moves well, jumps high, and looks to have some pretty long arms. Should be a nice weapon to press with. They had him basically running a one man press at times last night and one time it resulted in a steal/and-one. He tried the off the back in bounds pass again too. I couldn't believe the defender turned his back to him after that video going viral. He didn't hit him square though so it wasn't successful.

We didn't get to see him attempt any jump shots but I was watching him in warm ups and I thought his shot looked pretty decent. I went to a game last year and wasn't impressed with his jumper so I think he's been working on it. I did notice during the layup drills he shot his left side layups with his right hand. Better get him using his left hand. Overall, I think it's clear to see that he's got a very high ceiling.

I like his brother, Daviere, too. He really kept his team in the game while Devon was on the bench. Hit a couple huge 3's. I'd say he's about 6'1". Warrensville's Jr PG that he was matched up with all night, Yavari Hall, is a college prospect too. I read somewhere the he holds an offer from Kent. I enjoyed watching that match up. Hall got the better of him early but I thought Daviere ended up out playing him. The two got together heading into a timeout and were called for a double technical. Daviere's a skinny kid for sure. That might be the biggest knock on him as a prospect.

I was quite impressed with Lorain's 6'5" Sophomore Naz Bohannon as well. He's plays in the post for them but is listed as a SF prospect on the sites I've seen. He seemed to have a decent handle and had some nice spin moves in the paint. I think he finished with 20 points. It'll be interesting to see how he develops.

Great. The board sent two of its best scouts to a game and one said there was an OT and one said there wasn't. Interesting!!

My bad on the OT comment. We were so excited at the game with the prospects of an OT and we were discussing it in the excitement, so I just had a Brian Williams moment. Hell, I flew to that game in my personal helicopter. Didn't you see me in the church parking lot across from the school?

I was seriously like WTF? How does a guy give a total summary of OT in a game that didn't go to OT.

This is a classic! Funny how our mind plays tricks on us at times. 25 words on 5 mins
of OT that never was. Way too funny. I know you were describing the end of the game though. Keep the scouting reports coming. Maybe have someone read your reports before you post them. Lol my friend!

Haha, well played.

Clearly this game was the "Flash Fanatics" version of the dress photo.
