Georgia vs Georgia Tech on the SEC Network?
I am curious how the ACC folks feel about ESPN pushing the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game onto the SECN while putting the Louisville vs Kentucky matchup on ESPN2 and South Carolina vs Clemson on ESPN.

Of the three match ups of SEC vs ACC, the game that obviously means the most is the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game.

Feel like the little brother much?

Stupid thread topic but a finer point is that the SEC could easily go 0-3 against the ACC this morning. It shows how weak the SEC East is.

Of course an SEC guy says this.

Let me pull a Quo and change your words to. "Hey ACC friends! Don't pay attention to this guy, he is dumb! We love you and this makes sense to have Georgia vs Georgia Tech on our Network. Why you ask? Don't ask why! This guy is dumb!"

Clemson and Louisville are the host teams. Those are the ACC games picks for television.

Doesn't work that way. The Networks get the picks. ESPN purposefully let the meaningful Georgia vs Georgia Tech game slide to the SEC Network.

Sorry.

Doesn't every SEC team have to be on one of the big two at least once a season? That would explain UL/UK.

If that is the case then that would explain that game. It wouldn't explain the SC vs Clemson game though.

Georgia vs Georgia Tech on the SEC Network?
Not much to work with this week:

Egg Bowl - CBS
Ark/Mizzou - CBS
LSU/A&M - ESPN (Thurs)
Iron Bowl - ESPN (Sat)
Tenn/Vandy - SECN

Everything else is a non-conference game and Georgia is the only SEC school hosting this year.

Next year UK/UofL will probably be on the SECN, but Clemson @ SC and FSU @ UF will also be options.

South Carolina and Kentucky were on the road. You can't put non-conference road games on the SEC network.

Georgia was at home so it goes on the SEC network.

Good point, but the fact they were all noon games played a part in this as well.

Have to think that ESPN and SEC hope that this helps to push the SECN into more areas outside the SEC since the casual college football viewer would want to see that game moreso than any other noon game outside of OSU and Michigan.

Cheers,
Neil

FWIW, the SEC Network feed on Time Warner in Dayton was awful.

BS. Its ACC home games and it falls under the ACC tv contract not the SECs. Last year this game probably falls on the SEC syndicated regional network. Would you have been upset about that? Or how about the Iowa St/Iowa game on the BTN?

These time slots are not created before the season begins. They are finalized a couple weeks ahead, at most.

I think it is pretty obvious this was an effort by ESPN to push their SECN despite their responsibility to the ACC as well. They can, so they did.

Seeing the Wake Forest guy try to sugarcoat the situation is understandable but it seems pretty obvious that it is SEC first and then the ACC when it comes to ESPN.

How far in advance do you think kick off times are determined, hmm?

I highly doubt that the Georgia vs Georgia Tech game would fall as low as you suggest. You are getting desperate to win an online argument.

Iowa vs Iowa State on the BTN? If there were better options for ESPN to pick up then sure, that is what BTN is for and yes, I would have missed the game this year. I don't live in the footprint.

I don't get the argument here. Of course ESPN is trying to use one of the better games to prop up their SEC Network. What exactly is the big deal? The only way this is a slight to the ACC is by people that want it to be a slight on the ACC.

Desperate ha. You are the one crying about the game getting moved to the SEC Network when that's how it fell on SEC's television pecking order. More like hatred for the SEC on your part than mine. I could care less about it.

Crying? It is a discussion, I brought it up simply to discuss. You are the one acting like a petulant child that lashes out when challenged.

Crying? Hatred? Your own usage of words shows that you care, you care very much. The true sign of losing an argument. Ad hom your way out of it.

You know what I hate more than Georgia/Georgia Tech on the SEC Network? Minnesota vs. Wisconsin battling for the Axe and the entire western division and it's on the Big Ten Network. Some else posted elsewhere Wisconsin hadn't been on the BTN for a conference game (all teams are required at least one) and that makes sense (ESPN not realizing how big this game would end up being in earlier weeks), but all the same, it's a real shame not to have this one on ABC.
