How about them tigers? (NMR)
Well it is sort of MAC related.

Last night I checked the scores and it looked as if Mizzou was headed for a loss but to my surprise this morning I saw they won with some fourth quarter heroics and will now be in the SEC Championship for the second straight year--maybe this year they will get Alabama and that Saban-Pinkel match-up that I hoped for last year which should get Toledo and Kent State a mention or two during the game and pre-game hype.

Right now those two guys are at the pinnacle of the college football universe---they are at the top of the pyramid in the SEC which itself is at the top of the pyramid of all the college football conferences. Hard to believe now that those guys used to walk along the sidelines at the Glass Bowl and, even before that, they used to suit up for Kent State.

Gotta give Pinkel props for what he's done at Mizzou. When they made the move to the SEC, many of the "experts" said Missouri would be at the bottom of the league for a long time.

I like Pinkel and I'm glad he's done well. But the SEC is way overrated. Look how badly the ACC spanked them yesterday.

All those ACC/SEC games were in-state rivalry games---Florida/Florida State; Georgia/Georgia Tech; South Carolina/Clemson; Kentucky/Louisville----and this year they just happened to match up the top ACC teams (all nationally ranked) against the middle of the SEC (all un-ranked except for Georgia), so really the only upset of the day was Georgia Tech over Georgia. Still pretty impressive showing by the ACC to win EVERY single one of those games. It was certainly not the SEC's finest hour by any means. 03-wink
