Can Frazier not spend a couple $$$ to get this issue fixed?

I don't think you bring your own, do you? I think that's a WMU issue.

I hope not. I like Hare a lot for his mental and physical toughness but he really struggles throwing the ball. Hopefully his accuracy improves, if not I hope thatbsomeone else wins the job.

Hare is the QB version of Matt Sims. Can be on his game or off his game...but never seems to crap himself in the stressful situations

...you must not remember matt Simms from last season.

Let's just remember MACC Simms......ah.....better....

I remember...hence the "on his game or OFF his game" remark. Sims kind of had that "whatever" attitude and Hare kind of seems like a spacey happy-go-lucky college kid...which actually I really prefer when the stress level is high. To me, they just seem kind of cool and relaxed. Again, doesn't mean they are always on their A game, but they don't need a clean pair of shorts afterward...I guess unless you have Arkansas D-line coming at you

Hare has done it in games. He has led his team to the MACC game. Hare will get the benefit of doubt and start spring as the no.1 guy. For him to lose his spot someone is going to have to be spectacular. Hare now has a bond with Carey!

Unless you have a Jordan Lynch coming back, competition should ALWAYS, ALWAYS be open to give you the best chance to have the best players out there, and thus to give the best chance to win.

Then Allen probably starts next year. Maybe thats a spot up for grabs. Maybe Allen and Moore both start. Brooks and Logan at corner. Not sure how many saftey spots are open.

Moore should at worst be the 3rd safety next year. Both Allen, based on performance last year, and Mayes, on performance this year, appear to be better than him.

Quote:Hare was god awful in the first half, but beyond that and the infamous punt from the 31 (God that was bad) there really isn't anything for me to sit here and complain about.

It wouldn't be a classic NIU game if Carey didn't do something silly (see end of Toledo/NIU game). :)

Quote:If you want to kill NIU, you better do it when they give you the chance. WMU didn't and we saw the result.

Absolutely. WMU totally had the chance to at least go to Stomping NIU 1st half, to at least keep NIU back in the 2nd when Hare woke up. But, turnovers will do that to ya.

Quote:What the hell was with WMU's play calling in the second half? It felt like all they were doing was running the same play to Franklin over and over.

YEP! I was ticked at that conservative play calling. We did that against BGSU when we had a lead. I didn't like it all. It's our coaches assuming our D will stuff the other team, to wind down the clock, and to tire out Their D. Doesn't work when the other team's O wakes up. Totally works against ya then.

Franklin's not great at gaining yards when the opposing D stacks the box. But over time, he'll wear the team down if you keep yourself on the field a lot, and make them go 3-and-out or only 1 first down on each of their drives --- then he'll run rampant 4th Q against a more tired D. That's an over-confident choice against NIU who finds ways to win -- and when Hare wakes up from his 1st half nap.

RE: WMU Game Thoughts
Non-game observations from a visiting fan.

Nice looking drive from Holland to Kzoo with trees instead of corn fields.

The main road off the highway needs some work!

The stadium was much more angled than I thought it would be. On top of that the enclosed location of the indoor and suites on either side kept the noise in the stadium. This gave the atmosphere from what fans were there a really nice and loud effect. Makes me even more excited if we can actually bowl our South endzone.

The free parking was great, thanks for who suggested it on here...GCD?

The employees around the stadium treated my mom and I as if we were WMU fans.

The underbelly of the West stands were not impressive but I would say on par with most of the MAC stadiums I have been attended in previous years.

Driving thru some of the campus and I was rather impressed with how everything looked.

Heading back home the cops were out and that stretch of 94 was just shredded so badly that I was worried that I was going to have a blowout.

In the future if we ever played WMU on a Saturday in Sept or October I would try to bring the Family. It was a much easier trip than to Ball St that I made 2 years ago.

One shared emotion all MAC brothers have is a yearning for better attendance. I have such fond memories as a teen in the late 90s of a packed Waldo Stadium, even the hills in the corners were packed. Would love to have you all here in that kind of environment. NIU fans travel to Kalamazoo as well as anyone, including CMU.

As it's been the past few years now, we'll all be huskies during the championship game and bowl season. Represent!

RE: WMU Game Thoughts
As bad as NIU played in the first half, they were only down 11 points at halftime. It could have been much worse, but the Huskie defense kept the Huskies in the game, before dominating in the second half.

For example: After Akeem fumbled the kick return, The Huskie D stepped up to hold WMU to a Field Goal.

After the NIU offense surrendered two points on a safety, the D forced WMU to punt.

And there were the two fumbles forced by the NIU defense.

The game could have been over by halftime, were it not for the D.
