There's a ton of issues with this team. If y'all can't see that, you've got your heads in the sand. That said, they really played with a lot of fire and heart in the 2nd half tonight. That was one of the intangibles that had been missing so far this year. If they can bring that fire night in and night out, we could be pretty good.
We still are sloppy (better tonight), poor at the fundamentals of rebounding, and bad on offense (better tonight again; wrong players taking the wrong shots and too many shots in general IMO)
The team kind of seemed listless this year as well, until the 2nd half tonight. If they can keep that fire up, the other things will probably fix themselves

RE: Bruins Thread
So whats up with Lee? Still early but he doesnt seem to be showing indications of being the most talented freshman on the team. Why so little impact on a night when mehinti fouls out? Doesnt seem to be seizing a role...yet. would love to eat those words soon.
Perhaps we should start cokley, norton, madison, sullivan and mehinti, and let brown, baxter and washington come off the bench for a few games.

I see the damn issues. I just recognize that this team has to learn how to play together and six games isn't enough time. I am not going to question coaching decisions when he hasn't had a chance to do his damn job.
With the exception if Wisconsin, the outcomes were a lot better than I expected. I suspect they covered in the last two games. I see a lot of issues, but I see a lot of promise too. I'm willing to wait for that to fulfill itself before I hit the panic button.

This team could be pretty damn good this year IF we build some chemistry and get consistent effort. I don't see that happening if a couple of guys are doing their own thing. Washington and Brown heaving up 3 point shots will have UAB sitting home again after the CUSA tournament.

Lee slipped on wet floor in the Fla game and I was worried about his knee. Maybe he needs time to get healthy. They seemed to have some moisture issues as numerous wet floor wipers were working during Fla game. Less of a problem last night.
This team needs some time more than anything. I'm gonna be there to watch them develop. Should be fun.

Only got to watch the last 11 minutes or so. You can tell after this week some of them are getting it. Sullivan didn't play like a freshman down the stretch. Norton is just fun to watch. We got some inside looks but just couldn't finish. That group that played the bulk of the last 10 or so minutes didn't lack for effort that's sure.

I didn't get to watch the game, but who was on the floor during the final stretch?

Mostly norton, Madison, Washington, Calhoun, and Sullivan. Cokley was in for a good bit in the 2nd half as well

RE: Bruins Thread
IMO the play of the game may have been Sullivan's 3/4th court lead pass with the left hand that hit someone (CJ, Madison maybe?) right on the money for a fast break layup

How did Calhoun fare during that stretch?

He made at least one three I saw. He actually looked good. Very active, quick, and he looked athletic. He's very thin, but he's got height. He didn't took as tiny out there against other D1 players than I thought.

A loss is a loss. But I saw tremendous growth in this team during the last 2 games. I'm excited about this year. I think we will be almost unrecognizable by the end of this year given where we started.

I think the biggest thing is the fire the group brought that played the last 25-33% of the game. If they continue to bring it like that, most of their issues will work themselves out.

RE: Bruins Thread
We still have a chance to get some decent wins before conference play. Wins versus Morehead, Illinois State, and UNC would be huge. This team shold start gelling at the perfect time.
