On the 4th and 1 in the red zone.....

Quote:Fleck said he had complete faith in his team to pick up the yard and he said after a game he would make the same decision in a heartbeat.

"There's always momentum in a game," Fleck said. "We were fighting for momentum. With our kicking game, we missed another extra point today. So, it was 21-10. We kick the field goal and make it and it's 24-10. It's still two touchdowns. But, if we get it, now we're talking.

"I think my team can get a third-and-one and I definitely think my team can get a fourth-and-one if they can't get it on third down. I'm going to keep believing in my team and I'd do the exact same thing all over again, because if we do get it we're talking different right now, in my opinion, because you're talking about, 'Wow, that was a great call on fourth down. You got it. You went up 28-10 and that was it.' Those are the decisions I have to make. I would make it all over again because I believe in the players in that locker room."

NIU linebacker Rasheen Lemon said after the game the Huskies knew the ball was going to go to Franklin or Terrell on the play. Lemon helped set the edge on the play and forced Terrell to cut up field into the waiting arms of defensive tackle Corey Thomas for the tackle.

Doesn't matter if it was predictable. You execute and you get the yard. Miami put up 41 on these guys. CMU ran them out of their own stadium. It's not like we couldnt move the ball on them.

NIU's RB coach setting all of this straight for everyone.

@CopelandKelton if you like trendy catch phrases go somewhere else. If you want to win championships come to #NIU.

Good luck in your bowl game Broncos.

Sounds like NIU's RB coach can learn how to win with a bit more class.

Chuck Martin... This Copeland guy...

What's the deal with opposing coaches shooting their mouth off like this?

It's not like Fleck has called out other coaches or programs that provoke these reactions.

Maybe he's salty about getting beat in his own backyard for recruits 05-stirthepot

But yeah, I don't know. Maybe they just get annoyed by his attitude. I probably would if I were an opposing fan or coach.

Is it just me or isn't there a "catchy phrase" on each of the Huskie helmets?

I guess NIU's running backs coach prefers it the hard way.

It's possible. I don't know why else you'd make a comment like that. If you say that to recruits one on one I could understand it. If you say it publicly it comes across poorly.

I'm sure Peej is a joy to recruit against, might be some leftover from that.

There seems to be a lot leftover. There appears to be some bad feelings between NIU staff and PJ. I think there are other programs with similar thoughts.

Even an 18 year old knows what they're watching when they watch this Carey led bunch. It's a crap team. If I were a QB prospect I'd ask Carey, if you can't promise I can beat out Drew Hare as a freshmen then I'm not interested.

When your biggest asset is dumb luck it eventually catches up with you.

Please don't embarrass us in a bowl game. 01-ncaabbs

Well of course there is. He's taking the field with a bunch of freshmen and sophomore and lighting teams up. Every opposing coach loves someone who is no threat to them.

But really, for Carey's sake he better get out while the irons hot. He can't count on another year of dumb luck and timely injuries to bail him out.
