And we would have been in a lot closer game with Richmond if not for their lack of ball security. Along with an OT win vs App state. So I'm going to say they are going to compete a lot harder that Charlotte and they have a better QB-WR tandem that we need to worry about.
They also have a safety on the Walter Peyton list, and looks pretty good.
If I was them I would be treating this as a home game , ride short enough to bring a lot of fans and family and its sort of a rivalry.
That is true. But if not for the refs, it could have been 55-7.
-Before their 2nd TD had them stopped and the officials called roughing the snapper wtf? 1st time I have ever heard that call in my entire life..
-Before their 3rd TD had the 2 targeting calls, 1 of which we all know was a complete crock.
Also remember JMU had a ball handling issue that likely cost JMU 4 points when at RU's 2 yard line had the bad snap that went -24 yds and ended up settling for FG.

I'm still trying to figure that one out.

The roughing the snapper was on the drive with Taylor's first pick 6.

Yes I understand , but I'm just not one to place a lot of blame on calls the refs make. They have to male those high speed judgement calls and we as players should never put game situations in a refs hands/eyes. Just imo those two turnovers were big in keeping the momentum and score at bay.

For the record, Strauss' strong game throwing for 300+ against the Flames is what made for such a competitive Double-OT contest.

i'm not sure what you're getting at here. sounds like you're saying you're proud that you gave up 300+, am i missing something?
Strauss had a terrible game against us because our D-line dominated their O-line from the opening whistle. wouldn't have mattered what QB was back there.
oh and don't forget we played the ENTIRE SECOND HALF without BOTH starting safeties due to targeting calls.... and we still shut them out.
