Could do one marquee game a year there for example FSU or an SEC opponent.

Yearly would be pushing it even with a strong downtown base. I live downtown but I still value the gameday atmosphere at UCF that we wouldn't get at the Citrus Bowl. There's only 6-7 a year and when you factor things in like donor parking privileges, functions thrown in on campus buildings through student and alumni groups etc you are screwing a lot of stakeholders the same way you would by purposely having a weeknight game for no reason. But, like a weeknight game is rationalized for ESPN, I think the right partnership with Orlando could work out as a win win every 3-5 years. That's essentially 1 game in every college students career as a college student.

The "bad blood" isn't a myth but its definitely overplayed. Some of our fans think that leaders like Hitt and Dyer hold grudges the same way that message board fans do.

Man, that brings back memories. I was a HUGE Memphis Chicks fan back in the 80's and 90's as a little kid. The Southern League had some great baseball stadiums like Tinker Field in Orlando, and Wolfson Park where the Jacksonville Suns played.

The Orlando City MLS stadium will be built behind the Magic Arena & a hotel is planned in that area so soon that whole area from Amway Center to the Citrus Bowl will be an almost nonstop 'athletic district' on the edge of Downtown

I would love a '1 and done' at the Citrus Bowl against UF. The sacrifice outweighs the potential benefit of an upset win

Hogan at FCS is laying down excuses/needs so that the City/County pump in tens of million more $$$ into the Stadium, that won't have a remnant once the soccer team moves out.

did they add any parking? the one time memphis played ucf there, that was the biggest deal to me. i guess they left that adjacent baseball stadium in place?

a rebuilt citrus bowl is no better than a rebuilt gator bowl.

Parking is still bad for big games (small games too). Area around stadium is still low cost housing, a dump and a highway.

The only area that is being re-developed is on Church at near I-4. Once you get passed the new soccer stadium it's crackville all the way to the Citrus bowl.

I've always felt a new spot for the Citrus Bowl would have been better. Personally hated going into that neighborhood and having to deal with the parking, and con games with the residents who give you a price for parking, then hit you with a higher price after the game. That's not even considering trying to get out when your car is three rows deep in some guy's yard.

Downtown parking/bus tram is the way to go, but man they could have found a much better location. Though i'm not sure where you'd get it near the Sunrail line, unless they created a spur for it.

Either the old soccer stadium site if the church would have moved or the creative village across from the Lynx bus station.

If I didn't know any better I would say that Orlando is absolutely looking to lure an NFL team. For UCF's sake I hope the Citrus Bowl isn't able to relocate an NFL team there. That would be so awful for the school and kill all momentum the football program has been able to get in their short existence. On a positive note, UCF would never be able to leave the AAC and it gives the rest of us dreamers more hope that our program moves to the big 12 and UCF is not ahead of us in the call up.

Big things might happen in the next 10 years. The Jags are gone whenever their lease is up, 2027 I think. They will leave the state. The Bucs lease ends 2025, they will demand a new stadium. Will Tampa build it? The Rays stadium lease ends 2027. MLB has determined that the Tampa area is not viable for baseball. They will move, probably to Montreal. Orlando could be in play for the Bucs if Tampa doesn't build a new stadium.
