RE: Bowl???
We (the Floridians) lucked out that we went to the Orange instead of the Fiesta and hopefully Boca will work out this year.

RE: Bowl???
LOL -- no. NIU's going to a bowl with 9 wins. With 7 wins they'd be going. Only with 6 wins would there be possibly a no-go, since we have 5 bowls to our name in the MAC. Ohio may not go being 6-6.

That is a tricky one...

7-5 CMU with wins over Purdue and NIU

OR

6-6 Ohio team who had the best average attendance in the MAC

Either way its the Camellia for either of these two since it has to be the least exciting bowl game.

LOL get this...If Boise St goes to the Access bowl then there is a small chance that the Potato Bowl will have a MAC vs SEC or P12 match up because the SEC or P12 could have 1 at large team that is bowl eligible.

RE: Bowl???
If we go to any bowl game in Florida, I may stay there until next May or June, when perhaps this winter will be over.

When I was a kid (eons ago), I always wondered why the older folks would move to Florida or Arizona in retirement. Now that I am an old fart, I know. After putting up with these sh!tty winters my whole life, I can no longer take it and am ready to throw in the (beach) towel. I want outta here!

And it isn't even cold yet. Seriously, I was out yesterday and it was 28 degrees (I was out of the wind) and I thought, hey, this isn't too bad.

How F'd up is that?

Anyway, if NIU won the MAC this year would they necessarily end up at the GoDaddy bowl?

The MAC champ if not in the Access Bowl would very much likely go to the GoDaddy bow.

The only scenario I see something else happening is if NIU/Marshall/Boise St all win out and ESPN really wants to serve up a NIU/Marshall or NIU/Boise St bowl game.

I really think that ESPN tried something like this last year to get a NIU/Fresno St match up in Vegas but Fresno instead went for the match up with USC (no brainer).

Boca would be terrific. Personally, I'm pulling for the Bahamas.

If there are 10 more team eligible than bowls who would miss out? I don't believe any P5 teams will be.

Bowls have to go with their the Conferences that they are contracted with.

The MAC has 5 primary contract bowls and 3 secondary tie-ins bowls for the Poinsettia as a backup for Navy, 3 ESPN owned bowls (New Mexico, Bitcoin and one other that I cant remember) which the MAC can only get 1 spot and then Detroit.

Right now I doubt any of the secondary bowls will be open at all which would leave CMU or Ohio out of a bowl game.

Id be happy with that. Found a cruise that leaves from Port Canaveral on the 22nd that's in Nassau until midnight on the 24th. Will be the cheapest way to go. Atlantis is like 500/night last time I checked

The facilities in the Bahamas are awful I doubt we go there. All in all if we win out and some people lose we could be in something of a dream. How sweet it is!

ESPN had us losing to WMU, and then playing Marshall in the Bahamas

RE: Bowl???
It's highly unlikely but not impossible that the Huskies end up in another Access Bowl provided they win in Kalamazoo and the MAC title game.

1) Boise has to beat Utah State (a salty team) to be in contention to win Mountain Division
2) Colorado State has to beat AFA (a somewhat salty team) to be in contention to win Mountain Division
3) If Utah State beats Boise it would win Mountain division if CSU lost to the AFA
4) Fresno is on a streak and should beat Hawaii at home to capture the West Division
5) NIU would need Fresno to win the MWC title game
6) Marshall has a reg season finale with WKU who demolished BGSU in it's opener and has won it's last 3 games. A WKU win would knock Marshall of the unbeatens and likely lose it's ranking. Marshall is scheduled to play LaTech who should finish 7-1 in conference. A La Tech win is needed.

Long odds but as I recall the odds were pretty long 2 years ago also.
