Wanted to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving before all scatter to their gatherings tomorrow. Safe travels and have a great day and evening watching our Broncos.

A number of years back, I was barely getting by and was sitting around one day feeling a bit sorry for myself. The holidays were fast approaching. When Thanksgiving came around, I actually saw the light and realized all I had to be thankful for in my life. Thanksgiving brought it all into focus. I had a roof over my head, heat in the winter, food to eat, friends and family, good health. From where more and more Americans sit, I had it made.

I've tried ever since to commit to doing something for those less fortunate, especially around the holidays which can be an especially tough time for the truly needy. Simple things like donating to homeless shelters, to organizations who feed the hungry (and provide a Thanksgiving meal), to the Salvation Army and many other great organizations. In my giving thanks for what I have, I feel best when I know that I have done something for those who are really in a tough spot.

America really IS the most generous country in the world. It is due to the goodness of all of us, ordinary folks that help others out in even the smallest of ways, that we can make a difference in the lives of others.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Have a great one. Once again I find myself ont the road trying to make it home for Thanksgiving. For at least the last two years I have made it home late on black friday. Sometime tonight I will start making tge drive from Yankton, SD to Michigan. Hopefully I can make it home before sunset tomorrow.
