This is really wierd!
Both men and women's programs have a pre season first team all conference selection. Josh Hagins for the men, and Taylor Gault for the women. Yet each is not starting and not getting a lot of minutes for a supposedly premier player. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. It's just weird.01-wingedeagle

I like both of these players, Gault and Haggins. I like them both coming off the bench because they provide a spark. These two also have a tendency to play out of the system and when they do they find themselves in the doghouse.
I think that is the only thing holding them back.

I have a harder time figuring the Gault situation out, since she has always looked like the best player on the team to me. Not "playing in the system" may be the best explanation I have heard. I'm sure its not that Coach Foley just doesn't "like" her which I have heard said.

I don't believe that either. I suspect it's the fact that she's not doing something the way Foley wants it to be done. And that's what counts, what Foley wants. Whether she's the best player on the team, I don't know, but she's probably the best outside shooter, especially from the three point range. And she's not great at that. She's definitely one that's either hot or cold. She's not one that you can rely on to give you a good solid offensive game every night out. She may score thirty one night, and none the next.

I am surprised that she's stuck around for four years, being in and out of Foley's doghouse practically the entire time. Most would have transferred.

The coach is the CEO of the team, like it or not.

I give her a lot of credit for that. A lesser person would have been long gone.

She's not a ball hog. I've seen her many times pass off when she was in the paint and should have shot the ball. I saw her do it several times last night.
