Memphis Football Performance
I am so pleased with what the team has produced this year, not only am I able to watch the Tigers play almost every game on TV - which is a thrill but how the guys are playing as a unified team. Kudos to the coaching staff and their leadership towards keeping the young men grounded through their success. Best of Luck and focus on beating UConn Saturday!!!..... Go Tigers!!!

I started at Memphis State in the fall of ’71…that year we went to the Pasadena Bowl and beat San Diego State in the Rose Bowl. After 10 years in the Air Force, I was blessed to return to Memphis in 1986. We’ve been season ticket holders since ’90. Through the years I’ve witnessed tremendous ups and downs with Tiger football. We’ve had some great players and terrific athletes come through the program, but the one attribute that stands out to me with Coach Fuente’s team this year is their discipline…both on and off the field. I think back on the Williamson and Baily years and lost count of how many games we lost by beating ourselves with senseless personal fouls and un-disciplined play. These kids have bought into Coach Fuente’s responsibility to self and team.

An old Irish toast to our University of Memphis Tigers:

I drink to your health when I’m with you,
I drink to your health when I’m alone,
I drink to your health so often,
I’m starting to worry about my own!

04-cheers

In my family that has always gone:

I’ve drank to your health in taverns,
I’ve drank to your health in my home,
I’ve drank to your health so damn many times,
I believe I’ve ruined my own
