I know a thread is good when there are more replies about a game then our opponent points scored.

Man if I had a dollar for every time you say "you people", my bar tab would be more than covered tonight.
Did Karrington Ward's dunk make you leave the game? We were lucky to win the game after he did such a careless, selfish thing.

In terms of drawing conclusions about this team games against St Francis, Concordia and Rochester are rather meaningless. The EMU Classic and the Oakland game now those you can draw conclusions about this team.

Indeed, we have had four meaningful games against so-so competition at home.
St. Francis and RC are kind of superfluous in the grand scheme.
What I hoped to see today is Price hit a number of treys. No such luck. I worry about Price and his ability to get into a groove. Three point shooters live and die by their shot. They don't get cheapies like garbage baskets or where a PG will lead the fast break and get a layup for a teammate.

Now I am going to sound like I am too finicky, but either of those opponents could create a loss. I am already expecting 4 in the road trip. How about an IPFW type of school. Just feel like 4 lower division is a bit much.
I like the one at the beginning as a warm up. And I like the one right before the MAC season to get some practice in and build up some confidence. Maybe a another one somewhere in there. 4 just crosses a line for me.

RE: Game Day: Rochester
Steve, interesting point about the combo guards. Talley can score and Alvano is always looking for his shot. Both are good with assists as well. Lee tends to have less assists but I think he is capable. Bond's height puts him as a 2, but you keep saying he is smooth with his passes- hearsay at this point.
When Bond comes in the picture, this will be the deepest backcourt I have seen at EMU in terms of quality.
The forwards spot is just as solid with the starters- Ward and Okoloji. Price and Nazionne are just fine as backups. They bring some things to the floor but have shortcomings. It would be nice to have starting caliber backups, as may be the case with the guards. But to me, that does not seem too common to have all of your backups be such.

Yep, in that Blue Ribbon Yearbook Murphy had a few sentences on Bond. "A really good passer. A really good playmaker..." "He's more of a pure point guard." "I think he can be really good."
Apparently he was played out of position in high school but Murphy has him at PG "in spite" of his height.
BTW, I believe Alvano has played some SG, but I really see him mostly as a playmaking PG. He's a frosh so he has time to get his shot falling.
BTW, doubt we'll see Lee at PG because there are already three (Alvano, Talley and Bond) who can play it.
Yes, I too wish we were a little deeper up front. Fouls or injuries could really hurt us there.

Yes. One more IPFW/Valpo/Robert Morris level team would turn this schedule around.
