Won't win as many as last season?
Bitter disappointment from pre-season hype?
Not as good as advertised?

Hard to believe they'll even get close to last seasons win total--tougher non-conference schedule would have seen to that even if we were better than we appear to be. We miss Pearson. He was the only tough player we had, physically and mentally. Hell, even Boothe's fouls are soft. As for mental toughness, we've lost all 3 games that were tight. Drummond has chunks of each game now where I'm not sure what's going on with him. Needed Garber to become more of a contributor this season, and it hadn't happened. Bench as a whole is not much of a help. BUT, maybe come conference play, Drummond will start to show consistent Senior leadership with his play on the floor, Applewhite will be a secret weapon who scores 20 a game, and Jon Jon will be producing needed offense from the bench.

I don't see a 10 point loss as a tight game. But regarding duplicating last year's record ... Rockets were 9-0 in what I would call tight games, being those with less than a 4 point margin. Not likely that a team will duplicate that sort of late game dominance two years running. Add to that a more competitive nonconference schedule and its hard to see how an even better team can match up to 27-7.

Hey...I'm trying to be optimistic here. Honestly, though, Oakland just got their first win of the season tonight. That game up there will be a very challenging one for us. We could be staring at 2-4.

Only one big who plays above the rim. Other than Weatherspoon, how many dunks have you seen from our big guys? We have some talent, but not enough athletes.
