I'm anxiously awaiting the premier of Maroon is the new Black.
Enos has decided to come out with his own motivational clips to show his team the first is How(to) Handshake!

Haha. Could also show them HOW to turn felonies into high court misdemeanors.

I like it, HowMountain was really better, but both are motivational.
I grew up Pentacostal, and in my teen years saw some truly exotic preaching. Reverend Abney in GR and his choir literally had people dancing in the aisles. Very compelling.
From time to time there would be a "revival". A dynamic, usually young good looking guy from West Virginia or the like would cruise in for 5 days of back to Jesus. They were good. But they just had five sermons, honed and perfected over time. Then they moved on to another location.
I'm thinking this motivational Howwhatever is similar. It's good stuff but there is only so much you can do with it. But that's OK.
We just need one more week. Beat the Huskies, dude. Get it done.
The bowl game is gravy and in my mind a reward, does not need to be dead serious with that one.

+1. If you guys were still losing, this would be called HowStupid.

Yes...I thought that last year...winning does cure a lot of ills.

If Enos or any other MAC coach it wouldn't be nearly as entertaining. Pj is pure gold when it comes to entertainment value. He has done a good job of dusting off old ideas and presenting them in his way. I bet other coaches can almost tell you what he is going to say word for word once he gets out of the bat **** crazy parts. The ideas are tried and true football motivation. He just gets at it in a way that only PJ could do. Pure gold all the way back to the new traditions. I have a new appreciation for those videos. He has a great message.
I agree, the management/motivational ideas are tried and true, classic, timeless. You could probably go back to Viking times or Eqypt or the Roman Legion and hear similar before the battle.
But the delivery is focused and fresh. Gives his guys a vision and a goal that is a stretch but within reach. Perfect and appropriate to the audience. Well done.
I noticed near the end of HowTornado he seemed very genuine when he said the program has gone beyond his own expectations, to places unknown, more than his own experience has prepared him for. He says, he had a vision of where he wanted to go, but the program is in a new place, uncharted territory. That is interesting to me.
In philosophy there is a phrase "the thing in itself", in Zen they call it "Satori", pop culture they say "in the zone". These guys seem to get into an altered state during the game, no doubt in their heads, focus, confidence. Good stuff if you can get there.
Sometimes sort of miracles can actually happen. We might be witnessing something very special with this group.

Wouldn't that actually be called a
HOWurricane or a HOWicane?
So perhaps the CMU video should be How Now Brown Cow.
Speech between the 1st and 2nd quarter "It's 14 zip gentlemen. So ask yourselves. HOW! How do you we come back in this game? Now ask yourselves, when? When are you going to exert your will? NOW!!! What about it Brown Cows!!!!!
How now Brown Cow, How now Brown Cow!!!!!"
Team takes the field after chanting "How Now Brown Cow," goes on a 22-zip run, and another "How" video is born.
