Teams we need to lose this week:
Miami over Pitt
Ohio State over Michigan
USM over UAB
Miami (OH) over Ohio
Kent State over Akron
Hawaii over Fresno (There is a 2nd out if Fresno makes MWC TItle game, but doesn't help GS or App)
BYU over Cal
Oregon over Oregon State
Vandy over Tenn
Louisville over Kentucky
Cincy over Temple

Next Week
Oklahoma over Oklahoma State
Tulane over Temple

If 9 of the 12 lose, we hit 76 bowl eligible on the dot, guaranteeing all 4 currently bowl eligible SBC teams make bowl games.

If 10 of the 12 lose, Georgia Southern goes bowling in all likelihood.

Think of it like watching the US On Sunday at the Ryder Cup. Its not likely, but there's a chance.

Note: I have pulled South Alabama over Navy from this list for two reasons. 1: Navy would have to lose to Army as well, and 2: Its probably better for Arkansas State and Texas State for the Jags to lose.

There is no way one of the 2 Alabama bowls doesn't pick the Jags but hey at least this gives ASU/Tx State something to cheer about.

At 6-6, there is a decent chance you could get left out. You were 6-6 last year and got left out.

True. But now with one more bowl game and no eligible conference champion there is a lot more gray area than last year. Plus, with all 3 teams ending up 5-3 it is anybody's guess. Everyone knows the bowls are all about money so a local team or one in within 2 hours drive is definitely attractive.

Therein lies the question that we don't know the answer too. What is more important to the bowl, hotel rooms and tourist dollars spent in town by someone else, or selling tickets to locals.

Either way, you have to admit there is a certain chance you could be left out.

21 Ohio - Miami (OH) 21

Not sure there's anyone at the game aside from the band.

Where things stand now.

Kent State beat Akron +1
Ohio beat Miami (OH)

So we need 8 more positives in order to ensure that Ark State, USA, and Tex State all bowl. We need 9 to get Ga Southern in there. We need 11 to get App in.

Ohio State is favored over Michigan by 20.5. Game is in Columbus
Miami (FL) is favored over Pitt by 9.5. Game is in Miami
Louisville is favored over UK by 13. Game is in Louisville
Oregon is favored over Oregon State by 19.5. Game is in Corvallis
Cincy is favored over Temple by 6.5. Game is in Philly
Oklahoma will be favored over Okla State by some number (no line yet) . Game is in Stillwater

Tulane will be a home dog versus Temple. No line yet.
USM is a 3.5 point home dog versus UAB
Hawai'i is a 10 point road dog versus Fresno
BYU is a 3.5 point road dog at Cal
Vandy is a 17 point home dog versus Tenn

It looks like of the 8 that USA/Ark State/Texas State need, 6 look reasonable, then we need three upsets. Still doable, but man, oh man, its going to be a tough go. Go USM, BYU, and Tulane! And no other upsets.
