List of 2013 Harris Poll voters

The CFP committee looks a lot like the Harris Poll voters, only there are 12 instead of 112 of them.

I think more voters is reasonable, maybe 25 or so is enough, though.

But one other improvement I really like is the way they vote. They don't simply give a top 25 and that's it. They look at teams in groups of six. They discuss the six, then vote on the top 3. Then the second group of 3 is compared with the next group of 3. So there are discussions all along the way. Someone might have a team ranked out of whack, but that system doesn't give that voter unfair influence that they might have if it was the way a traditional poll was performed. I also like it because it allows teams to be directly compared and discussed before a re-vote. It's pretty ingenious and a vast improvement on straight top 25 lists.

I think one committee is fine. No need for multiple committees.

I'm not sure you got my meaning, Frog. I don't want multiple committees. I want no committees. And I don't want a top 25 out of a poll. I want a top 6. I really don't care who is #9 or #10.

Inconsistency is guaranteed due to the fact that it is not just one person running it. Eventually I will be Dictator of all that is College Football. Until then though, people will just have to get used to the Fact that most human beings are flawed and thus human systems are flawed.

When you are the dictator of the college football, may I be your Head Henchman? 04-cheers

Perhaps, but as you can see, playing wack-a-mole with all the dense headed fans can be quite tedious. In order to be the Head Henchman you would have to deal with a lot of dense heads.

It will never happen. I am sorry but I would never ask that of those people. No matter what choice they make, they will never make the right choice. There will always be crazy fans of some school that would want to do nasty things to them. Just look at this place as a cross section of such populace. They cant even properly translate the week to week ranking changes the Committee is making. It is a recipe for disaster for those individuals to let these crazy people know their exact ballots.

I highly doubt they want to severely limit their ability to ask persons to put all this time into the Committee if you cannot guarantee their safety.

They are not our slaves, they are free individuals offering their time for the committee. Asking for open ballots, in my opinion, is very selfish when one considers what that would cause to happen in their personal lives.

But they get condensed games they all watch without biased commentary, they all use the same stats and have standardized computer software to compare teams and they openly discuss the rankings and hear other's reasoning.

It's a better way to do a ranking.

The G5 would be an after thought and would be far worse than the BCS polls. Most stated the committee was going to take the G5 seriously, especially many AAC fans. To me the simple answer would have been keep the BCS poll to determine the top 4 and the Highest rated G5 gets an access slot. The committee just helped enhance the perception of the vast divide between the P5 and G5.

It's an imaginable divide.

Perhaps you should rephrase that. I know what you are trying to say but you fumbled pretty badly with those four words. Perhaps try to move up to five or six word sentences.

Game control, that's cute!!

Yeah, now you just sound like an upset FSU fan.

Why would I be upset? FSU controls their own fate

The problem is a clearly definable finish line...no one really knows what they have to do. What the hell is Marshall supposed to do?? They're undefeated and have clearly demonstrated "game control". They have a weak SOS? Do they have the option to go schedule the SEC champ??

There are no discernible rules, no finish line. The committee might as well be saying "we like the color of the uniforms"

It's incredibly dumb.

Really? You actually believe FSU has exhibited game control? That is incredibly dumb.

I don't know if he's joking or not, but I'll just say "Harvey Updike." There is a serious risk to the person responsible for Alabama or whoever being #5 instead of #4.

Please, stop blowing life back into my believing that people can actually think about the welfare of anyone other than themselves and what they think they deserve.

That goes against my Agenda.

That is ok. I am in a fraternity with easily offended people. I survived high school with people who thought like barnacles. Dense heads would be an enjoyable diversion.
