I'm honestly surprised to see Boise ahead of Marshall. If both teams win out.. this basically means that Boise goes in over Marshall

Makes sense to me. The committee has made it quite clear with Marshall and Baylor that SOS matters. Period.

Big jump for Minnesota. Gotta give Kill a lot of credit.
Beat Wisconsin and they're in the B10 title game.

Yeah, I think it's a clear message to the NIU's of the world that the way Frazier is going with scheduling is the only way...and we really can't afford FCS schools anymore. G5 and Power conferences only, 2 of each every year.

Yeah, and I still think that WITH Marshall's SOS, they're resume` is better because they haven 't lost two games like Boise (Air Force and Ole Miss).

Yeah...I have to disagree with it. I get it that Marshall hasn't played anyone, but they haven't lost!
And Boise's "good" loss was by 20+ points (yes Ole Miss is good, but still)
And then they lose by 14 to Air Force.
It's not like these were two games where they lost by a field goal.
And what big wins does Boise have? Colorado St. very good. BYU and some of the other MWC, good. But not big enough to make up 2 losses in my opinion.

The only thing I can think of is - Marshall ALMOST lost this weekend... but still, winning =/= losing.

I'm loving this committee. Gone are the days where FSU is the #1 team because they haven't lost. The committee is making a statement.

Long (committee speaker): Boise State's strength of schedule "far and away better" than Marshall’s and notes Marshall only has two wins vs. teams .500 & above.

I just don't think that's a 2 win difference, especially considering Boise's losses aren't that close. Based on this, I don't think NIU would get the spot if Boise and Marshall were to lose, our SOS is too weak, surprised we've even been mentioned.
We may want to only schedule 4 power conference non-conference games every year, it's ok if you lose them.

RE: College Football Playoff - Week 14 Rankings
Boise being 9-2 -- they're not an Elite 9-2. Ole Miss dropping shouldn't help them either. They've had some close games, and Marshall's had fewer (1 really; Miami-OH opening game challenged them to make it a mere 2-TD win), and Marshall's definitely Stomped more.
If Boise's loss was to Ole Miss by only 14 and Alabama by even 20, while being undefeated in their conference and not having the instead blemish of losing to AF, while still beating Colorado State -- yeah, I agree.
If Boise was 10-1 losing to Ole Miss by too much, and Marshall at 11-0 -- yep, I'd definitely agree, no question.
But there is no elite stand-out mid-major this year. Marshall SEEMS like they could be, but doesn't have enough to be ranked above an Elite mid-major. OK. But there is none. Usually there is a Fresno, NIU, and old-school Boise. There isn't. Therefore, I gotta go with UNDEFEATED Marshall who wins by tons most games.

We are mentioned because you can only go to the peach bowl if you are a conference champ. So if Boise loses their conference championship and Marshall loses a game then we would be the next up assuming we win the MAC.
Also, Marshall made their own bed. The committee made it clear in the pre season that SOS will matter, big wins will matter as well as good losses. Boise has lost to Ole Miss (no explanation needed) and Air Force (A team that is far and away better than anyone on Marshall's schedule). With big wins over BYU and Colorado State. I don't see why there is a controversy here. It's the same reason why FSU is #3 and not #1.

Yep. And, if Bama, Oregon and FSU win out, FSU would have to go to Pasadena to play Oregon. That would be tough for the Criminoles on a lot of levels.

People get on me for posting CFN stuff deservedly so, but Bob I really don't think you should support this corrupt committee crap by posting it. It is completely idiotic the way this system is devised.
The Boise/Marshall thing in my eyes is a toss-up, they are even resumes the way I see it.

Non power 5 teams should be allowed to reach the top 20 for one thing. Waiting until week 14 to seriously include them is ridiculous in my opinion. Marshall was kept out of the top 25 this late to be sure there was no public outcry for their inclusion in the playoff. I don't think they should be in the playoff but artificially propping up other teams to keep them out is ridiculous. The whole process has no transparency and probably only a few strong voices in the committee are dictating everything. That is just the worse possible scenario you can have, highly corrupt and illegitimate.

Ok...post your top 25 then. Seems like you know all the answers. Post your top 25 and let everyone here dissect it.
It's hypocritical to criticize their list without posting your own. I for one am interested in seeing a legit list that isn't corrupt. Show us.
