Robertson over Vad?
As expected they gave CAA POY to John Robertson. Very Similar numbers to Vad and won head to head...
Vad: 3323yrd, 29td, 6int, 61.4% completion, 769rush yrd, 8td
John: 2629yrd, 34td, 3int, 67% completion, 978 rush yrd, 9td
Except Vad had to deal with less talent surrounding him, new coach, new system, and a different running back every week.

RE: Robertson over Vad?
good for Robertson. Lee deserved it. But so did John Boy. I have no problem with him getting it.
I'll have even less (if that's possible) with him getting it when we beat them a week from Saturday.
it's all about the W!

Once again more fuel for the fire --- Let's take care of business on Saturday. Then Vad can send John Boy home for the winter.

Less talent surrounding him seems like a huge stretch. 4 senior offensive linemen and throwing to Cheatam, Brown, and Smith all year seems pretty good to me.

Give him a nice shiny gold medal also while you at it.... it don't matter a bit as long as we beat Villanova .... they can stick the medal where the sun don't shine as far as I am concerned just need to figure a way to beat nova.. it can be done.

Not sure if Villanova and JMU played the same number of games, but Lee had the advantage in total yards -- 4,092 to 3607. That's a substantial difference. I like Lee over Robertson as a player. Let's see what happens if they meet again.

Robertson won't run away with it next year when Vad has an entire year adjusted to the system behind him.

Vad stays healthy next season, I say Vad takes the CAA's top spot next year, and also the Payton.

Good work for both guys, but Robertson deserved the award. Numbers don't lie, and besides, they beat us head to head.

The thing is, if you look at CAA games only, since we're talking All CAA, Vad compares even more favorably.

RE: Robertson over Vad?
Speaking of "John Boy", how the decision of one young man changed the course of JMU football. I said this before the VU game, and said it a year ago also:
And remember, according to MM a couple of years ago when Robertson was getting CAA offensive rookie of the year, he said that it came down to JMU and VU, and Robertson told JMU he was signing with VU because VU was moving up to the Big East for football.
"Said this last year. If he had signed with JMU, he would have been the starting QB the last 2 seasons with a run heavy read option zone blocking spread offense that VU runs now and similar to what JMU ran in 07'-08' under Landers. It's all speculation, but I think think instead of the last 2 seasons being non playoff seasons of 7-4 and 6-6 would have been 9-2 and 9-3ish playoff seasons, with maybe a deep run in 2012, and MM would still be the the HC. Which means a lot of you would respond with, "Thank goodness Robertson didn't sign with JMU!"..

This.
This could have gone either way, and Vad was fighting an uphill battle being the new guy and starting slow, so not surprised. He had plenty of talent surrounding him though. Just took him and the coaches a little time to gel and figure out how to best utilize that talent.

This method is only utilized by the CAA when needing a reason to select another school's player over a JMU player .
