Just looking at the numbers.... We may be playing for a bowl this weekend. If we lose that puts us as the forth or fifth choice out of the MAC. Even though there are more Bowls this year I have 85 potentially bowl eligible teams as well. Could we get left out if we lose?

Um...no

The MAC has 5 primary bowl games this year.

Even if the MAC had 4 this year we would still get a bowl game over Ohio and CMU.

NO, with the recent success and the name NIU that will be a positive for the bowls. If we tank against WM, I think we could end up back in Idaho, in which case I will throw a great tailgate for Huskie fans who attend.

I'll explain why I would see us as vulnerable. If we lose Toledo and BG are guaranteed bowls by rule. WMU and CMU both bowl eligible and both have wins over us. I can see. (Not necessarily agree) a scenario where that puts us at number five. Mac schools with decent records have sat home before.

Do we have five solid tie ins? If so I think we are ok. With four I'm a little nervous

To be fair if this were last year when the MAC only had 3 primary bowls and we lost to WMU then we would be worried and waiting to see if we got a bowl game in Idaho over WMU or not...or be fortunate enough for a secondary bowl having a spot open.

I would imagine we would get an at-large or secondary spot...which would probably put us in a better matchup than the tie-ins the conference has!

If Boise St gets the Access Bowl spot I could see ESPN wanting a Marshall/NIU matchup in the Bahamas.

So AL in Mobile vs the MACC is a possibility otherwise it would be ULL.

Believe it or not, ESPN loves NIU. They'd never leave them out of a bowl game compared to other MAC teams.

Well not compared to a pro sports team or UofI or ND but for a GO5 program we do well nationally.

The past few years we have had better TV average ratings than some P5 teams.
