It was the final two matches which put a stamp on the Broncos as the never-give-up women. In the Mid-American Conference tournament, they trailed Ohio 0-2 before winning in five in the semifinals. Then WMU did the same thing to Miami in Monday's championship match, winning 21-25, 17-25, 25-13, 25-16, 15-13 in Athens, Ohio.

Seeded fifth, the Broncos beat Buffalo, Ball State, No. 1 seed Ohio University and No 3 seed Miami to take the title and make the NCAA field. That's four pressure-packed matches in four straight days.

We should not forget that it was our victory over the Chips, that earned this team the fifth seed in the MAC tournament. Without that win, we don't even get to the tournament.

What a great day to be a Bronco.

Thanks. Caught all 3 games.
Gals played well. Wisconsin has some real athletes over 6'. One with a 32" vertical and whippet arm. Only a freshman.

WMU loses some talent. Setter Pawlik was all conf and tournament MVP. A QB or PG. Has some height and skill coming back but need a blender or two along with the setter to dish it out to the bigs.

Major kudos to this years squad and staff. 3 gals quit over the course of the season including a 1st team MAC soph only a week before the tourney. Lots o drama. Munson kept them focused and they answered the bell late.

I watched the match online... first set was rough... deer in headlights rough... second was the back breaker... they had it in control and lost it at the end... I think that was the last wind they had in their sails... Wisconsin is just in a different category this year ... nothing to be ashamed of... wonderful run by the ladies... GO BRONCOS!
