RE: 14,400 and change
What does something that happened In St. Louis have to do with the attendance of a basketball game in Memphis?

i TOLD y'all. We had 20,000 more than that at the LB Sat...

We are a football school now.

Very well could be on our way. To be solid at football and basketball is weirdly rare.

A few years ago when there was actually talk of shutting our football program down, who woulda thunk it? Life is strange sometimes.

RE: 14,400 and change
I am certain some people stayed away because of fear of riots or disturbances downtown because of the Grand Jury's decision. MPD held the day shift officers over into the night shift because of FBI intelligence that there could be problems. I'm not getting into the politics of it, but this was not a night to be out on the streets in Midtown. We just had one flash mob in Poplar Plaza, and there were reportedly scheduled protests this evening at Poplar and Highland. I don't know if that happened, though.
Downtown is the safest precinct in Memphis, statistically, but this was a unique situation tonight, and I am sure it was in some peoples' minds and they decided to sit this one out.

We seriously thought about it, but decided to go ahead and go anyway. Glad we did.
