Not a band, but the late Hasil Adkins (1937-2005) is who I would have to go with. He came to fame in the mid 50s with his Rockabilly style.

Another band out of BG has been on Letterman, alternative band called sleeper agent, with a girl as lead singer..Check them out, they have a good sound as well and their song Waves has been a top hit.....

For a smallish town, BG has some big time musicians coming out...

I played golf a couple of years ago with Steve Gorman, drummer for the Black Crowes. He went to WKU. A great fellow who now lives in Nashville.

Steve is currently in a new band, with Kentucky native Joan Osborne, Audley Freed of Cry of Love, plus Jackie Green of the Black Crows plus a couple of other musicians, named Trigger Hippy.

Chad Hugo of The Neptunes and N.E.R.D. is an ODU alum. Both he and his more famous counterpart, Pharell, are from Virginia Beach.
