Radio hosts seem to not like us much.

The more they ruffle the fan base, the more callers/listeners they get and the more they try to get through again for some more.

It's like an abusive relationship.

That's 2 in one week. We may be the most hated fan base in the country.






Actually he was talking about the hosts on 560 that were supposedly whining about it.

Well since Ole Miss pooped the bed they gotta have something to get callers.

I think every radio show on WMC560 today dwelled extensively on Saturday night's attendance. The things said about our fanbase were pretty harsh. Frankly, we deserve it.

Good point. They were, of course, able to praise the Razorbacks at length and did so, but the negativity associated with our blemish definitely got more response.

Do not think it is as much of we deserve it than a true representation of where Tiger football sits in this community. Easily a 1/4 of the Tiger basketball fans in this town are fans of another team in football. We have not done enough to reach the younger generation of potential fans.

Almost all the die hards were there with me. It takes more than a few wins to get the casual fan to take notice. We'll continue to see more and more at the games each season if we keep winning. We've never had much bigger crowds than Saturday's for games against conference teams. It is always the Tennessee, Mississilly, Mississippi State and Arkansas games that would bring our per game averages up. I would say over 40,000 without any visitor fans is all we can really hope for.

Seems if we have a good win early at home (Ole Miss, Miss St, AR etc), folks continue to come out until we lose a game, then it follows current pattern. IMO, its a lack of a consistent winning tradition, lackluster scheduling (i.e., not SEC schools), at least in the minds of most folks who have some SEC allegiance(s).

We should never let anyone tell us what is acceptable for our program. That would especially mean radio host's who are fans of bUTtchugg U . There is a much larger goal at stake, we gotta get this thing rolling.

It's really a damn shame that Memphis sports talk radio has so completely turned against the tigers. I really don't listen to any of them anymore. I already know what they are talking about before in tune in( the great sec, the grizz which is ok but man 24/7, then whatever is wrong at memphis). I think it would help to have some host that aren't scared to openly be tiger fans just like most of em are unapologetic sec homers and grizz homers. I HATE 56 and 680. I'm waiting for someone to see a largely underserved market and start a new viable station.

This. I stopped listening to 56 because of the constant Tiger bashing.

I don't get to listen to Calkins, and I actually think he's good (he'll always be on my good list because of his push to finally press the University to 1) get rid of RC and 2) realize the University was completely wrong in their view of basketball first). So the following is a summary of my listening experience with Vernon and Parrish:

929 is, as follows: Grizz talk, giggles, fart jokes, giggles, Grizz talk, ads, giggles, more fart jokes, Grizz talk, giggles, terrible "comedy" bit, giggles, reliving the first set of fart jokes and how funny they were, mention of past weekends scores, giggles, Grizz talk, giggles, brief mention of Tigers (probably B-ball, but occasionally football), giggles, name dropping, final round of fart jokes, giggles, ads.
