Anybody going to Ruston?
Saw the thread for the watch party and decided to throw this up there. The wife and I are going to make the trip.

Tickets can be purchased for now through the Rice Ticket Office or La Tech Ticket Office according to the Rice Football Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/riceowlsfootbal...ments=18).

RE: Anybody going to Ruston?
Is ANYONE GOING??
Hell yes!!
The We Give A Hooters will all be there. After the way we were treated two years ago I cannot wait to walk out of there with a victory.
Going to be a tough game but they can certainly be defeated.
There is a 5 star Michelin Hotel in Ruston, The Sleep Inn, which is where we are staying.
The boys are staying in Monroe so we will go over and see them Friday night.
We are driving over (from Katy) Friday afternoon, 5 hours and then back after the game on Saturday.
I know the team would like to see as many fans as possible.

RE: Anybody going to Ruston?
Thinking of making the drive. As always (or at least it feels that way), Mrs.Big is on call saturday. So deciding whether to drag 3 kids, none of whom like football, up to Ruston or paying a babysitter a lot of $$ for watching them all of saturday is a strong mark against my attendance.

Would love to see the game, but ~10 hours of driving and the family factor have me leaning toward doing a watch party in NOLA.

haha, triage by phone is one thing, delivering babies by phone is a little tougher. I can't be too annoyed though, she was originally supposed to be on call for Rice homecoming weekend. She switched with one of her partners, so we made homecoming and sacrificed a possible Ruston trip. Since she was never going to Ruston anyway, it was a good trade!

May I suggest she use the following..."Just snake a tube down her nose and I'll be there... in 4-5 hours."

Dr. Beeper ?

Don't forget you can stop off in Shreveport on your way (about 30 or so minutes from Ruston, I believe) and do some gaming at the casinos floating on the river. Its a lot of fun, and they really treat you well. You can actually win some money there - unlike in Las Vegas.

A few friends and I are road tripping. We are planning to spend the night at Shreveport. Anyway, does anyone know how we can get our hands on some tailgating spots? I have a rice flag pole and speakers we could use. Once figured out, everybody is welcome. See yall there.

RE: Anybody going to Ruston?
The We Give A Hoots have a couple of spots - here is the email from one of our Hoots who has a motorhome(s):
I just got off the phone with _____. He got us parking spots at the Stadium for his and my Motorhome. Please let the group know they are welcome to come by before or after the game. We are supposed to be in spots 22 and 23. They can bring any snacks or drinks if they want to. Last time we played at La Tech we gathered at the Motorhome and then walked over to greet the boys.. I assume the boys will arrive at 9am since the game is 11am Central.
Come one come all and come early. the boys really like to see us there when they arrive.

It's about an hour from Ruston. They have a Horseshoe, Diamond Jack's, El Dorado, and a brand new Margaritaville. I hope all of y'all making the trip over have a safe and enjoyable time in north Louisiana. FYI, if you stay in Shreveport/Bossier go to Superior Grill and enjoy a frozen margarita and thank me later.

Gambling is illegal at Bushwood, sir.
