Ok guys.. I've pulled for Marshall to have a good season for a year or so now, and even though some of the fans here have been annoying, I'm glad to see you've done well.

Don't Coog this.. Finish strong and undefeated.

They have to play a team coached by former UAB coaches and players. It's all over for the Herd on Friday. 03-wink

The 1 game that scared the crap out of me happened Sat. The score, the way we played and the way we had to win the game on 4th and 1 on the 10 with 59 seconds to go in the game gave me the right to be scared.

Now that is out of the way, I think we go 13-0 into the bowl game.

RE: Marshall
You know, I think Colorado State would likely beat Marshall on a neutral field, but I still think Marshall should get the bowl slot. Hell, I really think they should be in the playoff. They're an undefeated FBS team. If some 10-3 team that is hypothetically better than Marshall gets booted, it's actually not a national disaster. I mean, when BYU went undefeated, won the Holiday Bowl, and was crowned national champion, I'm pretty sure only 5 or 6 people died as a result.

We match up well with CSU. Would be a fun game to watch. They had a lot more close calls than we have this year against worse teams than UAB and without the history between them. UAB isn't a heated, hated rivalry, but it is a rivalry.

I think UAB will have a shot in any game against a long-time CUSA opponent. I can't imagine we inspire much awe in them... we may walk onto the field ranked or whatever, but they've seen us get ranked and then **** it up many times before, and they know that, at the end of the day, we're just as chicken-**** as they are.

Actually, Marshall and CSU are pretty similar offensively. They are a little more pass happy, we are a little more balanced. On defense is where the difference is. They are 79th in total defense and equally bad against the run and the pass (80th and 85th). They give up about 100 yards more per game than we do, and our schedules aren't all that different. I honestly believe after watching three of their games that we would beat them by at least 14 on a neutral field. They would have no answer for our rush game and we would be the best pass defense they have seen all year.

We'll see how good our pass defense really is against WKU tomorrow.

No, we have already seen. Here's our conference games, opponent - their passing average - what they got on us:

ODU - 294 - 85
Middle - 228 - 201
FIU - 168 - 208
FAU - 206 - 179
USM - 270 - 114
Rice - 213 - 99
UAB - 224 - 141

The only team that got their average was the team that doesn't pass much. When we play a team that is more pass happy, and we set our gameplan for that, we do pretty doggone well. We have given up 147 yards per game while those 7 teams have averaged 229 yards per game.

Yep I am hoping for the best but if Marshall has any capable DL to pressure our QB, our offense will be in trouble...Now that being said our OL has done a much better job run blocking vs. back when we played La Tech...To win tomorrow we have to run the ball well among other things...

Good point and I think he is a good QB when he has time to make the throws

You guys handled ODU pretty good so you should be able to handle wku as well. While heinicke can slip away with the run doughty is not as mobile so there you go you got the answer

Not true. Believe it or not, san jose has the best pass defense in the nation.

I do agree we beat them by 14 or more. They arent very good honestly.

I guess Boise State fans are no worse than any other passionate fan base but after reading their message board some just make you want to chuckle. 03-lmfao
Some think Air Force would handle Marshall and Rice easily. This is the same Air Force that beat Georgia State by 10. 03-lmfao

What are you laughing? CSU just lost to AF and ECU has proven to be vastly overrated.
