JMU/Liberty Stats
i'm doing this differently than some of you would do it, so i expect some complaining. feel free to add your own stats, reinterpret mine in your own way, whatever.
i'm mainly going on differentials. for example, i want to not only look at how much we're scoring, but focus on our average margin of victory. i put the better number in green and the worse number in red. why you ask? because that's how i felt like doing it.
these are just the stats i looked up. i didn't cherry pick to find mainly pro-JMU stats. these are just what i felt like researching. please spare me the "that stat means nothing" line. instead of saying that, just add whatever stats you want on your own.
Scoring Differential
JMU: +7.6 points/game (36.9 ppg offense - 29.3 ppg defense)
LU: +6.4 ppg (33.3 ppg offense - 26.9 ppg defense)
Yardage Differential
JMU: +69.8 (497 yds/game offense - 427.2 ypg defense)
LU: +47.4 (426.2 ypg offense - 378.8 ypg defense)
Turnover Margin
JMU: +11 (24 TO gained - 13 TO lost)
LU: +7 (27 TO gained - 20 TO lost)
Sacks Differential
JMU: +.83 sacks/game (2.83 spg for - 2 spg allowed)
LU: +1.25 spg (2.17 spg for - .92 allowed)
3rd Down Conversion Differential
JMU: +4.8% conversions/game (44.9% 3dcg offense - 40.1% 3dcg defense)
LU: -4.1% 3dcg (39.9% 3dcg offense - 44% 3dcg defense)
Penalty Yardage Differential
LU: +10.67 penalty yards/game (JMU 66.67 penalty yds/game - LU 56 penalty yds/game)

Give us a Big South conference schedule and our Stats would be even more dominating over Liberty.

yeah probably. that really stuck out for me, too. we have better stats but play in a tougher conference, i think that says a lot. i thought the 3rd down differential was the most eye opening thing for me. we're +4.8% and they're -4.1%. i just don't see how they're going to stop us unless we stop ourselves. and we've been SO consistent during this streak, i just can't picture that happening.

What that tells me, watch out for the trick stuff.
