Liberty may see us as a rival, but until they beat us they cannot be. We shouldn't be ODU football's rival for the same reason... we haven't beaten them. I understand we've lost to Liberty, but it's been quite a while.
I do feel a bit bad for Liberty, because I feel like they shouldn't have had to face us. I think they could have beaten Richmond or Morgan State, but I feel like they are in for a surprise facing us. I know they expect it to be close based on numbers, but as we know numbers do lie.
Yes, JMU FANS may not be giving Liberty the respect, but I can promise you our football team is doing no such thing. They will be focused, fired up, and ready to face the Flames.
Liberty fans... don't mistake our confidence (well.. mine at least) as disrespect to your program. You guys have done some really good things down in Lynchburg. We are just extremely confident in our team.
Anyway, enjoy your visit to Harrisonburg. Hope our fans treat yours with the hospitality and respect your fans gave myself and my wife the last time we came to visit. Welcome to our boards.

It's does suck for them they have to face JMU, but there was nearly zero chance that they would get Morgan State. They were going to face either JMU or the winner of UR/W&M..

Ticket office gave them 1500... We sold twice that at RU. I'm not impressed.

There in lies the point, kind sir, we sold what was given, if more had been "given" im quite sure more would have been sold. Also im sure they (JMU) would'nt want that much red in the stadium.

FYI...being this is play-offs wouldnt they (NCAA) give more than just that few amount of tkts 1500 to LU.

IDK, I was just responding to what you were saying, i dont know how many were requested, but i would imagine that it had to be more than 1500 for a 25K seat stadium, seeing as how we would be traveling with quite a significant amount of fans for this one.

CAA rules state that only 1000 tickets need be provided a visiting team. NCAA rules are probably similar. And as I understood it, LU was offered the extra tickets for your band, which your AD and others decided weren't going to come. How "big" does a game have to be before the LU administration decides to transport their band to a road game less than 90 miles away? 01-wingedeagle

hey, don't get me to lying, gets no bigger than this right here. Thats why I said IDK how many were allotted, and does NCAA say you have to do more for play-offs type of thing. IMO, you have a football team you don't make plans for playoff weekend, unless you know early on, this band had an idea all year long, but dont know what happened

RE: Liberty fans
LU has a 'way' of doing things. My money's on that the admin dipped into a slush fund of some sort and outright bought all of those tickets... just so they could make that statement and throw out a press release about it. Wonder how many Sun Belt presidents and coaches have that email in their inbox this fine Holiday weekend?

RE: Liberty fans
A lot of LU fans buy tickets from other sources, because they don't like setting in the endzone. I was at the UNC game and that place was peppered with red everywhere. On TV it looked like a big crowd in Boone as well.

Seattle is a long way from Lynchburg. You clearly haven't been around the LU fanbase much recently. We'll be represented in significant fashion tomorrow.
