Wasn't West Va up 15 at the half?

Looked like men vs boys to me. Hopefully UConn rallies.

We are all rooting for UConn.

Of the 4 players suspended, 2 were walk ons that never played. One was a scholarship player that has not played all season. And one was a scholarship player averaging 5 minutes PT per game.

So that's not an excuse.

UConn looks about 20 pounds a man thinner than West Va. Way too many turnovers vs West Va presure. Way too many bad shots.

While much of what you say is true, the one kid Lubin weighs 270 pounds and was made for games like this. The other kid averaged 10 pts a game freshman year, but turned his ankle early in the season.

The big problem was an early foul that the refs missed when Purvis went up for a dunk. A WV guy clipped him while he was in the air, and he came down awkwardly and got hurt. So, they were without 2 of the guards they were counting on this year. Instead, their 3 pt specialist was on the floor, Cassell, but Cassell is not a good dribbler and not very swift.

Regardless, WV was the better team. They are very deep. Also, they hit outside shots with Staten. I imagine they won't be the better team in March, however. UConn is still finding itself.

I suspect, and sincerely hope, you are right.

I know it's early but that is the best I have seen WVU play since the team that Huggy took to the final 4. UConn will be fine ,and WVU may just be competitive in the Big 12 this year.

WVU hit big shots and played a strong press. UConn also turned the ball over unforced at least 6 or 7 times and missed an uncharacteristic amount of free throws.

Too early to tell for both teams - but I think both teams are top 25 quality.

WVU needed a Big Time Win against a Quality Team such as UCONN. not beyond my wildess dream would i have predicted this win. UCONN no doubt will continue its greatness despite this loss but wvu, my alma mater, i can't say the same...the mounties get me all horny with great games and then let me down just when am about to....lol...anyway uconn, good luck with rest of season..always pulling for AAC teams when not playn us or conference mates in the XII..

Agree, my rooting interests may be bi-polar this year. Memphis doing well in FB and now WVU may be decent in BB once again after a hiatus.
