We used them all this year, is Segers on scholarship or have they done this to see who will earn a scholarship at the end of the season. I don't believe any of them are bad, I am confused why we haven't used Ziffer earlier and how in any way he was 3rd string when he's the only one not to miss a extra point, has the longest field goal, a game winning field goal, and is doing kickoffs. What are your beliefs, and do you believe we need to pickup another kid to come in and beat them out?

To answer your last question, they bring in non-scholarship specialists every recruiting class. Low risk-high reward.

Wilder said he had never seen Ziffer kick in a game and Segers had looked good.

I would guess that Ziffer wasn't doing well in practice. I do think that when Cervi moved to starting punter that he should have been moved down to third string kicker. As BW said, that is a lot for a true freshman and while he is probably working extra hard at practice, he is probably wearing himself out and doesn't realize it. I see he averages 40 yards punting and would be curious on what he averaged before/after he was placekicking.
