Final week Power rankings
1. TOLEDO based on almost a guaranteed 7-1. Beat CMU, WMU, BG. Lost by 3 on the road to NIU.
2. WMU based on beating BG, and CMU with one toughy at home coming up. 51% chance they end up 7-1.
3 NIU based on beating TOLEDO, not playing BG, and losing to CMU. 49% chance they are in the MACC in two weeks.
4 CMU was 5-3 but have a good win on their resume and play on the tough side.
5 BG if they beat BSU will jump CMU because of total record in MAC play. No real good wins in conference, but good losses to WMU and UT.
6 OU
7 BSU
8 Akron
9 UMASS
10 Buffalo
11 MIAMI
12 EMU
13 KENT

RE: Final week Power rankings
If I were to rate how Good they are Right Now:

1. WMU (not a bias; MAC's weak this year; WMU started off upper-mid-range in MAC, improved during season)
2. NIU (knows how to not lose and pull out victories even though any team can play them close)
3. Toledo (very injury-ridden; they have one of the best backs though)
4. CMU (good potential, just can't put it together so well)
5. Ohio (improved; Vick as QB makes them Legit)
6. BGSU (not that great; their QB isn't that good + no more RBs to carry them; D has improved when they've needed it)

7. Ball State (Good running game; Defense can be pretty good but also blown open)
8. Akron (Good D makes them a worthy team)
9. UMass (Good O makes them a worthy team)
10. Buffalo (With their coach kicked out they still have a pulse)
11. Miami (Good O, bad D -- kind of like UMass but not there yet)
12. Kent (actually will play almost any team Quite Tough)
13. EMU (hopefully next year they'll be in the Top 11 of the MAC)

Mine:
1.) Toledo (They've pretty much won the West at this point.)
-------------
2.) NIU (WMU's good, but until they can beat NIU, NIU's here)
3.) WMU (Field goal away from 1)
4.) BGSU (Got to give recognition to the East Champs)
5.) CMU (Never sure what CMU team will show up. The one that finally gave a loss to NIU in DeKalb, or the one that lost to Ball St?)
---------------
6.) Ohio
7.) Akron (most disappointing team in the league)
8.) Buffalo
9.) Ball St (what happened?)
10.) UMass (Lot of people overrating this team on here. Can't wait till they're out of this league)
------------------
11.) Miami
12.) EMU (How are they not the worst team)
13.) Kent St

I'd love for a BGSU/CMU matchup and a Kent St/EMU matchup.

Id say NIU and WMU are playing better than us. Lucky for us we played cmu and wmu early.

Umass is dangerous with Frohnapple. Without him their receiving core cant do much.

Yes. If I looked at the games from 2.5 months ago I'd have WMU lower because of their loss to aweful Purdue, Toledo much lower for the same reason vs. UC and ISU. I'd have NIU and Akron higher as for their wins vs. NW and Pitt.

The teams you see on the field in November hardly resemble those of September where most of OOC is played. If you want to include OOC go for it. The overall records could rank that just fine. But that comes with flaws as well, like SOS.

In the end most of our MAC teams play each other and can play themselves out. The WMU vs. NIU game being the last to settle the score at the top.

That's cute.

Responding simply with "that's cute" on a sports message board is just precious.

But I agree with Todd. If you are not looking at how the teams played months ago, then you can only look at how they are playing today and I think his list is the most accurate.

And I don't understand why a ranking of only MAC teams would include out of conference teams in the discussion. The only exception I could understand is if one or more teams beat any good teams out of conference and to my recollection, that didn't happen this year. And no, Presbyterian is not a good team.

Well, OOC games that have an impact should. Like losing to a D1AA team... or barely getting by a BAD G5 team when you're good in the MAC... stuff like that. Or PASTING a Top 10 D1AA team, or barely beating an unranked D1AA team. Or ALMOST beating a winning P5 team. Shows how good ya are as a team.

I go by how-good-are-they-right-now because I think when you compare teams that don't play each other -- or haven't yet -- it sorta answers that question as opposed to what's been technically Earned.

Except with injuries, it can vary week to week. Toledo's is healthier now than even the last few weeks.

RE: Final week Power rankings
Well in truth,

the Cincinnati and Missouri games aren't looking so bad now that Mizzou is a win away from the SEC title game and Cincinnati is still in a tie for first place in the AAC.

The Iowa State game dumbfounds me and I have no explanation.

But on the flipside, the win over Northwestern for NIU is looking better and better as NW has rallied its season. Its win and bowl or lose and go home- also will decide Beckman's fate at Illinois with their win or go home.

The Arkansas game looked bad at first, but after two straight shutouts for them over LSU and Ole Miss is making them look better.

I think if WMU played Purdue again they'd most likely beat them as Purdue hasnt done much this season while WMU has improved.

I believe NIU's Sagarin ranking is #80 and Iowa State's is #82.

I dont get why NIU fans get their panties in such a bunch. You didnt play anyone very good in the East and up to this point you havent played both 6-1 teams in the West. So for now you are behind us even with your win vs. Toledo. "Well how can we be behind you, if we beat you??" The same way CMU is behind you and beat you.

Whose panties are in a bunch? Having Toledo ahead of NIU is dumb when NIU has a better overall record than Toledo, and beat Toledo. Toledo lost to a piss poor Iowa State team.

One team is 9-2, 6-1 in conference and has a win over a mediocre/bad Big Ten team.
One is 7-4, 6-1 with a loss to a bad Big 12 team.

The 9-2 team beat the 7-4.

It doesn't matter, we all know you're a giant homer who uses no logic other than the little rocket in your pants, but you're still wrong. Have fun cheering on the boat rowers Friday. Maybe they'll accomplish something Toledo hasn't in half a decade.

Doesnt change the fact that NIU played presby and unlv which are guaranteed wins for 9 MAC teams. NW is a good win. I explained why i didnt use OOC. NIU has the best record and if you think overall record decides the power poll... Thats all you man. But Toledo is going to be 7-1. I will give NIU the title when they knock out WMU. Not a second earlier. I even said NIU and WMU are playing better but we have the best shot at 7-1.

If you thinking playing in UNLV in the middle of September during the day is a guranteed win for 9 MAC teams, you're dumber than I thought.

And stop saying we. You're not on the team.
