Students are a major void right now. The support has never been great, but it seems like it's fallen off significantly in the last few years.
In the mid 90 to late 90s the Tigers were nothing to get excited about but student support was there - games and tailgating was just something that was done and it was a blast. I have no idea what happened to the students - the SEC was a big deal then.

Yep. My friends and I were commenting on that Saturday. When we were in school (early 2000s), the Greek community was there at all games, and plenty of non-Greeks attended. It certainly wasn't packed, but there were a few thousand. You had to get to the stadium if you wanted better seats.
Even with the tarps that they've added, the student section is pretty bare now.
