If YOU could award game balls for the CMU game, who would you choose?

Here’s my nominees, in no particular order:

Cory Davis - 9 catches, 104 yd., 2 TD

Donald Celiscar - Titus Davis held to 5 catches, long of 27 and no TD, 1 int., ret. 3 yd

Robert Spillane - 3 solo tackles, 3 assists, 1.5 tackle for loss, - 10 yd., 1 sack - 9 yd.

Richard Ash - 3 solo tackles, 1 assist, 1 pass breakup

PJ Fleck and his staff - had them prepared and believing they would win

Daniel Braverman - 5 catches for 117 yards with a long of 63

Honorable mentions:

Zach Terrell - 15 of 20, 222 yd., 3 TD, 2 int.

Trevor Ishmael - 3 solo tackles, 1 assist, 0.5 tackle for loss, - 1 yd.

Jarrell McKinney - 1 solo tackle, 3 assists, 1 tackle for loss, - 2 yd., 1 pass break up, 1 qb hurry.

RE: Game Balls To:
Game balls:
1. Donald Celiscar: 6 tackles, INT, 4 PBU's (mainly for his work on T. Davis)
2. Corey Davis: 9 catches, 102 yards, 2 TD (especially because he struggled mentally in this game last year)
3. Jarvion Franklin: 18 carries, 79 yards, 1 TD (gritty with the injury)
4. P.J. Fleck and coaching staff: Biggest win of career now

Honorable mentions:
1. Zach Terrell: 15 of 20, 222 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT (nice bounce back game for him after last year)
2. J Schroeder: 4 punts, 3 inside the 20 (partially responsible for late-game fumble with the great punt)
3. Dareyon Chance: 11 carries, 48 yards (did a great job filling in for injured Franklin
4. Front 7 (particularly Ash, McKinney, Spillane, Ishmael): for plugging up Rawls and the run game

Total team effort.

Donald Celiscar and Jarrell McKinney. Yesterday was all about defense. McKinney and Celiscar made the biggest impact in my opinion.

RE: Game Balls To:
Celiscar was a beast. I hope there were scouts on hand considering the job he did against probably a future NFL wideout.

I believe that I read in one of DD's articles that the D held CMU to zero net yards rushing in the second half.

04-jawdrop

Coaches wanted to load up to stop the run and make Rush beat them through the air. I guess they got it done, huh?

Everybody around the league knows about WMU's offense. I think that our D has been somewhat flying under the radar.

Yep, our post-halftime defensive effort was nothing less than superb.

Special teams had some huge, game-changing plays as well.
