If the students showed up we would easily average over 40K per game.

Our problem is half the students don't even want to go to school here. They are upset that mommy couldnt afford to board them at Knoxvegas, Fayetteville or Oxford.

I don't think this is true. Memphis students have much pride in the university.

Just show up yourself, honestly there's nothing you can do about what other people do

Saturday a.m. is was still crummy and even at kickoff it was cloudy and windy.

I was there, but if we could ever get 60 and sunny with that forecast in place for five days the Tigers would be in good shape.

I know we don't have the tradition, but over in Fayetteville, the Hogs were just playing for a chance at a bowl game in the cold and wet and had 65,000 there to help them blow out Ole Miss. That was about 5,000 no shows.
Thers nothing else to do in Fayetteville but the hogs. I bet they would firebomb your house if you are not at the game. They know who you are!

there were maybe 100-200 students there last weekend. student attendance is really sad.

I actually was impressed by the student section Saturday. They were into it, and while it wasn't full by any stretch, there weren't huge gaping pockets of empty seats (once everyone actually filled in for the game).

However, I feel pretty confident that the student section will be practically non-existent for this game. Tons of kids will be going home, or traveling out of town with their families for the holiday.

We could hope that some kids who go elsewhere might go to hang out with their friends who attend U of M, but that's doubtful. Best bet for an attendance surge this time is for Tiger fans who have family in town to bring them all with them on Saturday.

Yes. I'm doing this.

I have to agree with Bluto. When I was an undergrad, it used to bug the crap out of me when I heard other students disparaging the university. For starters, questioning the credibility of the U of M's academics when you yourself are a student is ridiculous. Second, as the other poster said, why mock the school that wanted you while praising another school that probably rejected you? The way I see it, if a U of M student is disparaging the U of M, they either got rejected by other schools or didn't have the balls to take out loans to go somewhere they really "loved".
