GameDay: Longwood
Guess what this game will show is the effects of a long bench.

Need to check how long the Longwood bench is, but there should be two tired (or maybe only one?) teams out there today.

EDIT: Here are the Longwood game notes:

http://www.longwoodlancers.com/news/2014...th=mbasket

Truth be told, but these games haven't had the intensity of say MAC games and certainly not MAC tourney games.

I used the words 'tune up games' to refer to these kind of games lacking big time intensity.

Anyway, Murphy has a long bench and can go 2-deep at each position so it shouldn't be an issue for us.

Sorry Steve. I was not trying to question you as much as say all regular season games matter.

Thanks for all the posts/ info.

Who the hell scheduled a 2:30 game the night after a 7:00 game? That was dumb. Longwood can shoot it a little bit. Hopefully we don't come out flat. Get this W, then we have two cupcakes until our brutal 4 game road stretch.

They do crazy things in these schedules. Not sure why.

Promise you won't laugh:

The first game of the CMU double header was at 9:30 a.m. and the game is NOW COMPLETE. 04-jawdrop

Second game at 12:30 p.m. (CMU plays host to AR-Pine Bluff.).

May be an early start time so that visiting teams can travel home on Sunday evening. Where is Longwood from anyway?

In Virginia, not too far from Richmond. Ten hour drive.

Some nice plays so far. EA looks like a nice playmaker. Lee is being Lee today (good thing).

Okoloji is having a good start.

i was a little hesitant about Okoloji at first, but i like him. even when he turns the ball over on offense, he's making a good decision. Bush was spot-on calling him a high IQ player.

We can see a real pattern developing as far as scoring: Ward, Lee, Talley and Okoloji and the rest points here and there.

Each of the top four scorers are good for 10+ points per game.

And the best part is that all 4 seem very unselfish so far. Willing to give up the rock for a better shot.

RE: GameDay: Longwood
While our scoring is up our assist are down we are only averaging around 11 a game! That is not team offense. Good news we are up by 14 at the half, the bad news is we are only up by 14 at the half.

agreed. i'm particularly impressed by Lee, because he could shoot or drive every time he touches the ball, but he's willing to move the ball around.

Love seeing the excitement from the whole bench as Trent Perry scores his first 3 points of his collegiate career.

This appears to be an incredibly close, happy team.

Solid weekend. Nice to come out of that unscathed.
