I think you've lost your mind. School was out of session, and it was Elon. It was plenty loud and raucous to start the game, but once it was clear that it was not going to be competitive, the crowd lost interest. There were a few Elon fans there, and honestly, I didn't want to make them feel bad.

I mean, it was 45-7 at halftime. The game was over after the first JMU touchdown about two minutes in.

Looking at the 1 win MAC schools, you think 1-9 Kent State would have resulted in that many more fans? Maybe a couple k more, but that is really marginal.

Agreed that it's disappointing. Also agreed with the earlier observation that griping about it probably does more harm than good. Play well and schedule compelling games at reasonable game times and you'll maximize attendance, whatever that number may be. But for what it's worth I agree that attendance yesterday sucked.

Oh, and BTW, like the overwhelming majority of JMU fans, I love and am proud of our band, which is always awesome and adds a lot to the exciting atmosphere of our games.

hopefully it's another 22 years before you come to a game again. Maybe you can get rid of your anger issues by then.

I think the Southern and handful of other FCS schools have it right. Forget about a before Thanksgiving rivalry game - unless you already have something that will be a draw. Better to make week 12/13 the money game. Sure your team most likely will lose that game right before playoff's, but get the pay check that weekend with the tough draw and play whoever earlier when it is more conducive to a big draw.

I would bet we would have more folks at MD this past weekend if we were 9-2, than in September as 0-0.

Liberty will possibly bring all their "eternal damnation" with them as well as pitchforks and torches(flames) but ironically we will show them hell at BFS...

I was watching games on the Godwin side when Challace was coaching (and there wasn't alot of sun on game days) so you know what you can do with it....

FCS football, a bad opponent, early start, and a holiday weekend. Best case scenario was another 1500-2000 fans.

Richmond had about 15 students at their game against us. FIFTEEN. Even our "pitiful" 500 that showed up this past week makes them look like a youth league game.

We will have more JMU FANS this Saturday than last. BOOK IT.
